A very uncomfortable interview - the dressing room after the match would not be a place where you would want to be. I feel some players have played their last game for the club - contract or no contract. If JB is still with the club next season, apart from at least a few players that he will want out - he will want control of all recruitment in any way shape or form with no input from TW. We all have the benefit of hindsight but this has been an absolute shambles including the January window of ‘limited’ opportunity. Agreed...

That is a valid point. I’m in the hope Barton can string a few results together and save us from the drop by the skin of our teeth but as Tisdale found out, this lot have a habit of going through the motions when it suits. I think we have a few top league one players in our squad 3/4 which we could build around, but the rest are either are too young yet have potential, or are just not good enough....Most are sadly the latter. There is talent in there, and that's why we get some decent results every now and then, but we are so unbalanced and not good enough in all the key areas and that will be the reason we go down, if we do.. Nothing to do with JB, but rather TW,BG and too a fair lesser degree PT for not improving us in January. With Widdrington's bold declaration around Tisdale's departure insisting that 3 Strikers were enough and had enough goals in them, perhaps TW pulled rank on Tisdale and blocked any more strikers.

We simply have to get all 3 points on Tuesday, if we don't then that's surely us down as we are very unlikely to get anything from the following 3 games:
Sunderland Ipswich Doncaster
Feeling very very despondent this evening

Well he didn’t sign van stopershoef, Day, Leahy, Kilgour or Williams who have given more goals away than anyone this season. Out of interest do you rate Ehmer above those you've named? With hindsight perhaps KB should have done a DC and rested a few players v Charlton or today, so they are fresh for Swindon, as that now looks a must win game. I’ve been massively disappointed with Ehmer - hoping a lot of it is down to the injury he’s carrying but starting to fear he’s just not going to perform for us, which is a mystery considering he was a proven performer in league 1.

From the sound of that some players look like they'll be dropped indefinitely.... He’s basically thrown himself and his coaching staff in to a very deep end full of a squad of footballers that was created 9 months ago without balance and without passion and fight right at the end of a football season but he obviously knew that to some extent at the time and no doubt has a clause in his contract that says he can’t be dismissed for relegation I reckon and that’s me judging from the things he’s said since he arrived plus a bit of streetwise common sense. At the moment I’m taking a bit of solace in that I believe that next season he will build a side either capable of winning promotion from league 2 or capable of finishing in the top half of league 1. We’ve been through so many managers in the last 14 months and what we now need is consistency in our set up and I can’t think of another manager with better credentials to push our football club on over the next couple of years than this man. He has to stay out of trouble of course which for Barton has always been a challenge but so far the way he’s conducted himself has been very good.

I blame Garner for how sh**e we are, I don't blame Barton at all. Well it’s his 1.1 points per game currently keeping us out of the relegation zone. I still don’t get it - if he was little more than a PE teacher, how did he get more out of this squad than Tisdale or Barton has managed? And during a much harder run of games? you just can't make players better than they are, let's face it most of this team is bottom of league 2 standard. Aint their fault they are not good enough. We all need to get used to the 4th division because we are going down, I came to terms with it when we played Wigan, we are a bad team and boring and full of mistakes, not just 1 or 2 but most of the game

Ed upson is a good pro, part of a squad, we are weak in his position. Don't blame him, it's not his fault we have no alternative. He certainly didn't look out of place today, I'm not sure I'd have his opposition over him? But I would have a younger fitter version from about the 60th minute. But who do we have to replace him? A midfielder who can pick a pass, defend and shoot

I am a great fan of Mc Cormack but his shots on goal are awful. Monday morning training session is for him to learn how to actually hit the ball between the posts.

It’s actually depressing, remember when DC enforced a policy after the last relegation of not signing professional journeymen or players just looking for a payday? As a result we bought in the likes of Sinclair and other players who played for the shirt.
It seems like we’ve gone back to that now, These players don’t even seem to be bothered we’re heading further towards relegation with every game.

Leahy gets so much unjust criticism.
Gives his all and can't be far off our top goalscorer.
Is the best defender in the world? No. But at least he's giving a 100% and helping us stand some chance of winning a game of football by sticking the ball in the net more regularly than our "strikers".

Forum is a funny place, if your face doesn’t fit like Leahy/Upson everything you do gets picked apart, while players like Kilgour get a free ride despite 5+ personal errors leading directly to goals.
At the end of the day hopefully this is the last we see of the likes of Ehmer, Vanstappershoef and a few others who simply aren’t good enough (Jordi) or don’t give a sh** (Ehmer).
Garner and Tisdale (should’ve been given till the end of the season imo) have taken the fall for these players, and some on here seemingly want Barton to as well. The merry-go-round turned poisoned chalice will stay for as long as Widdrington is here and Garners back room staff keep their jobs.
We have a squad full of league 2/national league players and as it stands that’s where we’re heading. Its now too late to make the drastic changes needed on and off of the field. Tisdale said as much as he could in his leaving statement and subsequent interviews without explicitly doing a DC, but he did clearly say he wanted a target man in January, something again that falls at Wael/Widdrington’s door.
If Widdrington was so confident that these players were good enough he would’ve stayed as manager until the end of the season. Instead of that he jumped straight back into his recruitment role.. oh wait no he didn’t.. he got a promotion! Who is even making these decisions? Genuine question.
As far as I see it Wael is happy to pick us up and drop us when he wants, leaving us in the hands of Starnes and Widdrington - only a double relegation would see any chance of those two being replaced.
Something I’ve learned as I’ve got older, those in public facing roles shoulder the blame for calamitous decisions made at much higher levels. In rovers case the blame is always placed with a manager who 9/10 has his hands tied behind his back.

Apart from the fact none of the players are really journey men but young pros trying to make a living out of football, not sure you can really blame them because we never signed any real leaders nor a 15/20 goals a season striker to replace JCH. The likes of Jaakola, Williams, Ehmer, Leahy, Hanlan, McCormack and Nicholson would, usually, get into most L1 sides.

TW is a brown nose and wael needs to get a proper professional football ceo who knows how to run a football club because wael is killing this club

I reckon Tisdale was only allowed to sign players TW wanted. Going by TW's previous record Tis was probably understandably against this, the club ended up signing nobody and we carried on doing poorly, Tis and TW fall out and Tis lost his job as a result. I might be wrong but this seems plausible..

Funny, I’ve heard the exact opposite - from a source I trust.
