Been thinking.....
If we start next season in League 2, then surely we have the chance of a successful promotion season. As opposed to we stay up and are attempting to be mid table in league 1 next year. Bigger fish little pond and all that.
In my several decades of being Gas promotions have given me some of my best memories.
So, starting over with some new players might lead to a season to remember.

I Remember thinking that last time we went down to that league . We were there for bloody yrs and went down before we went up. It’s a tough league , we won’t be a big fish and it’s all so very depressing.

People thought that we would come straight back up the first time we dropped into the 4th tier and we stayed there for 6 years. The second time we fell out the the league altogether. Bouncing back quickly isn't the given you might believe it will be.

Also the team who went down In 2001 was only by 1 point and in 2011 by 3 points.
This team is much much worst. Unless Wael spends really big to readdress the fact we gone backwards. I can only see another Bradford saga..

To me it is positive people trying to find a way to remain positive and if this is the most positive thing we can come out with then it goes to prove just what a sorry state we are in right now.

Ipswich or Sutton..f**king hell have a day off. Sutton. It’s easier to get to and our players won’t get “ big stadium stage fright “ Quite a good pub crawl from the train station to the football ground. Place is buzzing on a Friday / Saturday night, use to be my go to when I lived in Beddington. Next stop up the line was Croydon only went there once in 5 years... not for me.

I don’t like thinking like this. Assuming ‘we’ are a big fish is an arrogant stance to take. And then believing in some sort of right to promotion is, for me, a recipe for disaster. Everyone else hates you for it. Everyone wants to beat you and raises their game making the league more difficult. And, in our current league clubs such as Sunderland, Ipswich, Portsmouth and Wigan all thought they were too big for our division and yet here they are. None of them have gone back up straight away. If we go down it’s because we deserve to and we need to be humble enough to accept it and then plan our promotion along with every other club doing exactly the same thing.

No, there are no guarantees of a quick return, history has shown this. It will also mean losing the few real quality players we have.

I think😅 While I agree wholeheartedly with this we do need a massive clear out of dead wood, and would probably lose any decent players (Nicholson and Rodman) Cant think of anyone that im desperate to keep in defence, and the only 2 strikers i would keep are Daley and Ayunga (i think we're playing him a season to early, next year he is going to be something else) so now we get a new team together in league 2, a team that hasn't played together and are unfamiliar with each other. This could take a season for the team to gell and play well, the likelihood of going back up in a season would be pretty low in my opinion. Though I would be more than happy to see it happen

Clubs that’ll consider themselves. ‘Big fish’.....
Bolton (if they don’t go up) Bradford Salford ( money ) Wigan ( if they go down)
Medium sized fish .....
Gas Port Vale Grimsby ( if they don’t go down) Carlisle Tranmere Scunthorpe Oldham Walsall Southend ( if they don’t go down)
Plus all the rest who’ll be more than capable of beating us and doing very well.

Looking at league 2 on quest, we will see more physical battles, long throw set pieces, poor pitches, even worse refs and less attractive fixtures.
We will struggle without significant squad changes and at least two new strikers, and centre half organiser like Millwall Tone.

I’d like to think were somewhere in between these groups. From the top of my head those teams are pushing 3-6k attendances whereas we tend to range 7-9k. But being a big fish gets you nothing other than encouraging other squads and supporters to have at you for being a big club. Perhaps we might actually get some favourable refereeing bias though for once. Either way grossly depressing we’re even having this conversation with 7 games to go.
