Thought I’d start a thread on this as it’s a massive night for us even though we’re not playing. If Wimbledon win we’ll be 4 points behind them and they’ll still have a game in hand. Squeaky bum time. 🍑💨

Wigan must lose for me. Feel AFCW will finish top of the bottom 6. Swindon Rochdale - ideally a draw with a few red cards?

I think the writings already on the wall any points for the teams around us will just be the coup de grace. Only some stunning results in our final few games can save us now.

Looking at the remaining fixtures and their games in hand I think Wimbledon will be safe. They've picked up more points than any of the other sides battling to stay up over the past 6 games and will be high on confidence after coming from behind to win 5-1 away at Accrington.
I think Northampton will go down. Like us, they only have 5 games to go and some pretty tricky looking fixtures.
I think both Rochdale and Swindon are likely to go down. Already playing catch up and not the easiest run in. I guess a draw tonight would be ideal.
To stay up I think we need to target Wigan.
I wouldn't be surprised if Wimbledon beat Ipswich tonight but I'm hoping Sunderland can bounce back from their home defeat on Saturday and win at Wigan.

Agree we are most likely (90%?) to go down, but Wigan 0 - 2 Sunderland
Roves 2-1 Lincoln Peterboro 3-0 Nton Wigan 1-1 Crewe
These arent stunning results, but would put us in a decent position.
We'll lose 1-0 as Badwin trips on his laces and accidently heads the ball into his own net tho

Imo
Wigan need to get smashed by 3+ goals as that may come in handy with GD.
Ipswich beat Wimbledon. Ipswich need to win just as much for a play off place so you'd hope they would be up for the fight
Rochdale v Swindon a draw would be the best result if not the Rochdale win.

If Sunderland beat Wigan tonight we’ll be above them. Based on the run it I’d make them slight favourites, but only just. All still to play for. If streaky Johnson is about to go on one of his famous losing runs, and Wigan win tonight, it’s game over.

Get its a forum but think we are over thinking everything. There will be twists and turns and shocks and surprises to come that will have a swing in the race to stay up. What will be, will be.

I think Wimbledon will be safe regardless and both Rochdale and Swindon will be down. It's two from Wigan, Northampton and us.

On the negative side I have been predicting a relegation drop for ages. On the positive side I'm usually not very good at predictions.
I don't care about the other three teams dropping down. Boy, we've dropped loads of points to our fellow strugglers. It is those poor results that have done for us.

The main result for me tonight is Wigan. I agree wimbeldon will pull away . So if Wigan draw and Swindon win we will be 2 points away from the zone
This would mean 5 teams will be fighting to avoid 4 places. If you told me after Ispwich game we would be 2 points away I would have taken it.
If you look at games left I would say Rochdale northampton Gas down and a fight between Swindon / Wigan. However I did say we would stay up v Mansfield ( wrong) and Accrington would win final game in 2016 ( wrong again). The truth is anything could happen and 5 teams got 20% each if Wigan don't win tonight !

To summarise.....
We want:
Wimbledon to lose at home to Ipswich Wigan to lose at home to Sunderland Rochdale to win at home to Swindon
That about right?

I don't think anybody is safe. Wimbledon have games in hand but that is worth a lot less at the bottom of the table than the top. They have Ipswich twice, Oxford, Portsmouth and Lincoln (all chasing playoffs) and then two against the bottom six (Swindon and Rochdale).
Northampton, who are currently top of the six, weirdly are the ones that I feel most confident will go down. I can only seen them getting 1-2 points from their remaining games.
For us I think it comes down to the three home games - Lincoln, MK and Crewe. 7-9 points there - hopefully enough. 5-6 will be tight. Anything less and we're gone. The two away games are tough and will be a free hit - any points gained will be a bonus.
I think we have a good chance of getting 7 more so 45. Northampton? 42. Wimbledon? 45. Wigan? 45. Swindon? 43. Rochdale? 41. Staying up by goal difference...
