Ridiculous comment. We had 11 games to go and probably had enough points to be safe already, a couple more would have definitely done it. Garners record with Coughlan’s cloggers was rubbish but there’s no way we were going down. not really.we were on a downward spiral.on teams current form below us even another 5 games would have sent us down on ppg.he was and is the man who should take the main hit of pushing this club into the wilderness. Southend and Bolton were down. Not sure how any projection would have had Tranmere getting over 45 points.!

Look on the bright side every team has a purple patch during the season & we haven’t had ours yet , so we’re going to do the double over Lincoln,Portsmouth & Blackpool to pull off the great escape. ( Then I woke up)

You get sometimes what you deserve in life, we have been rank all season, no JCH miracle goals this season to save us.
We go down stay respectful no big time Charlie claims of winning the League 2 title, just dust ourselves down and build again, Gas til I die!
Btw get rid of starnes and widdrington and buy two strikers

Tranmere had won 3 in 14, we’d also just beat Sunderland with an outstanding performance, no chance we were going down.

The last 20 years would probably indicate it takes us signing 20 strikers before we get lucky with a Taylor / JCH. This current squad with a fit JCH would have comfortably finished mid table at least this season.

As it happens I reckon they'd have stayed up. Not that we would have gone down though - but we would have tried our best.

This has been coming for a few years now.
It was a miracle we stayed up under Coughaln thanks to signing the best striker in L1. We looked doomed until JCH. No doubt we'd have gone down without him.
We made a great start to last season but once Coughaln left our record was so bad we'd could easily have been relegated had we played our remaining games.
This season has been a disaster from start to finish. The recruitment in the summer was appalling and it's now almost certain we'll be in L2 next season.
I thought before tonight it was a tall order but it's over now. Wimbledon and Wigan will finish comfortably above the bottom 4 of Rovers, Northampton, Rochdale and Swindon.

Lol that’s one of my favourite posts ever. You either didn’t watch the game or you’re just clueless. Didn’t think I’d find anything to smile about tonight so congratulations sir.

Oxford have scored ten in their last TWO games!!!!!!!! Ten!!!!!!!!!!! What a farce we are.No recruiting in Jan(Burton did big time and look at them). No ground improvements for over twenty years. Poorer team than the one we had in the Conference. Worst of all ,nothing ever changes. When we kick off next season at home to Harrogate, will we have any actual changes to our Dickensian set up? No we won't as we NEVER do. I do not currently have any pride in our club.Sadly no hope either. This. The odd good season now and again but in reality nothing ever really changes. It’s been so long now that other clubs new stadiums are out of date now!! We’re almost effectively 2 regenerations behind now!! I don’t blame Wael, I’m grateful we’re still afloat, but how in all these years have we never managed to get something built???

Let’s stay respectful then. Th man has put a lot into our club, he’s hurting just as much as us , if not more. In defence of topper he like some of us are questioning : how much more is this good man prepared to spend ?. He's blown £25 mil on a 3rd division side who seems like they are back in 4 . Its a good question . Will he continue next season in light of the demise of salary caps and spend big ?. He will have the JCH money and possible sell on to justify a good budget . I'm sure he never ever thought a possible championship push will end up in the basement . The people around him should apologise not Wael . It's not a good question it's an irrelevant question. The owner is the owner. Same as every other football club. The question of how much more he'll spend is no more relevant now than when Higgs was in charge, in fact, following the capitalisation of the debt and the funding of the training ground, its far less so. Ironically Topper to this day will argue until he's blue in the face that there's no way Higgs would have let us go into administration if a buyer hadn't been found (even after Higgs publicly stated that funding via MSP was unsustainable and the board weren't prepared to put any more money in). But for some reason now Topper is concerned that the person who has continued to fund and develop the club off field and has publicly stated that he will continue to do so will stop putting his money in. Why does Topper always believe the opposite of what people say?

Wigan and Wimbledon win when they have to, whereas we have no backbone, no stomach and no balls except for a few exceptions. We have blown every opportunity to get out of this mess and Northampton was no exception. The once good name of BRFC is now in tatters.

The last 20 years would probably indicate it takes us signing 20 strikers before we get lucky with a Taylor / JCH. This current squad with a fit JCH would have comfortably finished mid table at least this season. Way more than one in twenty. I’ve been supporting Rovers since 86 and we’ve usually found another striker to replace the one we’ve sold on. The times we haven’t have been the relegation seasons and there’s only been four of those in 35 years. This year is one of those year’s probably and to keep us up Barton needs to roll the dice , try something different, it probably won’t work but he’s got to try something different. I like him much more than Garner or Tisdale but theyve all got one thing consistent with all three managers so far is they’ve all done the same thing and haven’t tactically been that different from each other. Time to try perhaps Walker in the middle with Ayunga in a 442 with Tutonda as a left wingwr and hanlan as a right winger ? There are many variables to what you could do with this squad and we’ve had three managers and they’ve all done pretty much the same thing in terms of tactics positions and style of play. Garner was about a more slow patient build up ,but Tisdale snd JB have only upped the tempo - haven’t really tried anything different. 3 managers but very little has changed in terms of tactics , style of play players picked or formation. You’ve only got to look back through the matches this season it’s all very same same whoever the managers been. Hanlan was a winger at gills why hadn’t he been tried as a winger here under three managers ? Ayunga is a poor target man lacking in ability but he’s crying out for a nippy striker to feed off the mess he creates why hasn’t he been paired with Daley or Walker ? It’s so frustrating I wish I could have the last 5 games but we’re all football managers aren’t we.

You don’t have to change a whole squad to become successful you just have to get it right in the right areas. Coughlan got it absolutely spot on with a handful of changes. TW, BG and Tisdale don’t even know what I’m talking about.

He’s been fantastic but what I say not only puts him in a fantastic light it also puts everything else about our team in a terrible one. Pathetic.

That's a bit harsh, Martinez & Walker have come in and drastically improved performances. They have improved us over the last two games but kids thrown in at the deep end due to us bring in a sh** situation due to having no leaders. Leahy has been probably our player of the season and has now got the captains armband but I don’t really see him as an ideal leader or captain. It’s a shitstorm created over 15 months 3 managers and two transfer windows that’s accumulated to Luke Leahy being our player of the season and captain as we’re ( most probably ) relegated. f**k !
