It's just another damning revelation about this current group of players .... Standards are appallingly low and I sense one or two ( maybe more) of the so called players are 'bad eggs' really messing up the rest.
If these frauds spent more time on team work and practising the basics and less time on worrying about their boot colours and now this tobacco nonsense we may have had more of a chance.
Its totally embarrassing ....

I remember in Euro 2016 Jamie Vardy was chewing Snus think there is a difference in that he is a very good player.he could be smacked out of his head and still be on top of his game.

Any professional athlete would only want to use legal performance enhancing supplements to their diets and not anything that would promote some kind of negative addiction.
Nicotine is highly addictive so it can’t be a good thing and surely will lead to other types of ways to satisfy that craving.
I’ve had a look this morning about Snus and I can find nothing about it’s performance enhancing effects and it appears to be a relaxant rather than a stimulant.

Clearly it hasn’t given our players any sort of advantage 😂😂😂😂 Without it we would have been down months ago 😂 pub players

I didn't realise that's why American golfers spit so much - getting rid of the tobacco.

Prob explains why the players are so relaxed sleep walking to relegation without so much as a fight. Also it’s illegal to buy and sell this stuff so there actually breaking the law, should be role models. Chewing tobacco linked heavily to mouth and saliva cancer as well.

In the olden days nicotine "smokers" were used in greenhouses to kill all the bugs in there. Which always gad me raising an eyebrow when people said nicotine was harmless. Doesnt chewing tobacco lead to xancers if the mouth and throat (?)

I remember chewing tobacco back in the 1960s and 1970s. Not sure this is the same thing though. Attachment Deleted

You seem to know an awful lot about Ben’s personal life and actions at the club. Just saying. Do you have google? Just saying. I have Google of course. Never had the inclination to Google “does manager x smoke or drink”. He’s hardly a football personality either. Never saw the reason for Barrett’s exclusion documented.

No I agree, but it’s unprofessional and I think Barton’s point was trying to illustrate the kind of complacency and unprofessionalism that runs through the whole squad, which is undeniably one of the many reasons why we are going down. Quite possibly. Vardy was openly using it on England duty, Leicester and England didn't seem to mind. I suppose when you're banging in 25+ goals a season and winning your club their first ever Top Tier League Title your professionalism isn't questioned. When your team are rock bottom of the 3rd Division, I suppose it is. And that right there is the difference. Vardy has a natural talent to find the net at any level. Most of our lot couldn’t find their arse with both hands.

It's well known that runners and weight lifters die quite early from heart strain and crippled joints, but they say "well, a short life with vitality is better than a long life of disease and weakness" ... Or something like that! I think I should read the article before jumping into this conversation though, unsure what JB said yet, just got right into posting links like "oh, I know this one!" 😅

I find it hard to believe that Garner who is tee total and a non smoker, who has a sports science degree and bought in nutritionists as soon as he joined the club would allow tobacco products to be used. I may be wrong but it would be interesting to see any evidence. Especially when Garner wouldn’t let Barrett train with the first team squad until he sorted his weight out. Doesn’t add up. Cheers Ben 👍🏻

Absolutely vile habit and shocking levels of unprofessionalism from some of our players once again.
Not having it that it wasn't going on before Barton's arrival either. Clearly Garner, Tisdale or both tolerated it.
The more I read and hear about what was going on at the training ground post-Coughlan it sounds like some kind of holiday camp. Might explain why some of the players who have performed decently elsewhere in league one before let their standards and performances drop once they arrived at Rovers and saw what they could get away with.

Or they didn't have the managerial ability to control it.
