I mean it’s hardly the hard drugs which were rumoured at the point of some of our previous relegations (2014 at least).
But still, goes to show a distinct lack of professionalism from our players.
Unless there’s some weird ass performance enhancing benefit to using them?

It has yet to be scientifically proven that the use of nicotine pouches improve sporting performance, and Dr Toby Mundel – a lecturer at Massey University in New Zealand – has called for greater research into whether footballers who use the substance are gaining an unfair advantage.
The perceived increase in alertness and concentration is appears to be something that is attracting elite athletes.

Very interesting that Barton has highlighted this. From what I understand its endemic in football, particularly in the lower leagues and semi-pro game.

Clearly it hasn’t given our players any sort of advantage 😂😂😂😂

Absolutely woeful bunch of players.

Who cares? I know blokes that drink 15 pints and chain smoke 20 cigarettes on a Saturday night and then turn up at 10am on a Sunday and put in a better performance than some of our ‘professionals’

Personally I don’t mind them taking that sort of thing in their own time, but not whilst they are at training, that’s just unprofessional and a bad influence on particularly the younger players.

Jamie Vardy was a pretty high profile 'Snus' user.
It didn't do his career any harm.

Jamie Vardy was a pretty high profile 'Snus' user. It didn't do his career any harm. There’s no conclusive evidence that it did it any good either. Lionel Messi might be an obsessive orange juice drinker but if I drink a glass a day for the next 6 months I’m not going to bang 450 in for Barcelona.

Maybe not, but I'm just saying it isn't something to blame performance on. Our players are just sh*t.

No I agree, but it’s unprofessional and I think Barton’s point was trying to illustrate the kind of complacency and unprofessionalism that runs through the whole squad, which is undeniably one of the many reasons why we are going down.

Quite possibly. Vardy was openly using it on England duty, Leicester and England didn't seem to mind. I suppose when you're banging in 25+ goals a season and winning your club their first ever Top Tier League Title your professionalism isn't questioned. When your team are rock bottom of the 3rd Division, I suppose it is.
