How many games do you give him next season to say it's working?

We are so lucky to have Joey, he knows exactly what he wants and what he will need to get us back in League one. The money will also be there to bring in the right players to make us all proud again. Although I feel gutted to have been relegated I actually feel really excited about the new season! He isn't going to bring in anybody unless they meet his exact requirements, so roll on August. What makes you think the money will be there? There will be a decent budget that we can use due to getting wasters like Bennett off the payroll. I would imagine Upson was on a decent wage and he will be shown the door with a few other high earners who have been stealing a living.

Don't we also get less money for being in Lg2? And what about the £3mil Wael's just paid off? And terminating and paying off players Joey wants rid of? I really can't see as big a budget as people think.

How many games do you give him next season to say it's working? Well if he wins the first one that will be an improvement on previous seasons

Anyone else actually feel abit relieved that we’re no down? I get the feeling the rebuilding process has already begun and it already feels a little bit more positive. It’s certainly given us a few extra weeks to think about and plan next season knowing what division we’ll be in. Every cloud.

How many games do you give him next season to say it's working? How long before he says It’s a new team they need time to gel ! We are just getting the players to bond ! They are just learning how I want them to play ! How many games is he going to get before people realise that he ain’t the messiah?

How many games do you give him next season to say it's working? At least 8 no matter what. But say, if he lost 7 of those 8 for example, coupled with his results to date he'd have to go. But surely a return as poor as that is unlikely. If he won 13 points from the first 8 games that would be acceptable IMO.

Then again what if he brings in some quality players and we start off with a couple of wins? We may as well be positive rather than negative this summer.

People still want him to fail so they can dislike him I dislike him and did not want him here but I want him to stay and live up to all the bluster (i.e. take us back up as champions and then challenge in League one the following season)

People still want him to fail so they can dislike him No matter if he wins or loses I will still dislike him ! Most managers are disliked when they lose games and at the bottom of the league ! So it’s not a case if it’s only him that fails !

Fact is 3 managers couldn't get sh** out of this Awlful group of players. One created and built this squad, the 2nd had one transfer window and couldn't or didn't improve our squad in January, and 3rd Barton has had to work with the mess left before him and couldn't get anything out of them. These are simple facts. Barton has a decent record at Fleetwood, talks the truth regardless of how non PC it is and blatant his words are.He deserves a chance to take us back up. In 12 months people could be begging him to stay here after storming the league, we don't know

He doesn't mince his words and I appreciate his passion, but I do wish he would be consistent in what he says. His interviews are sometimes refreshing but also sometimes come across as ill-thought out streams of consciousness.
Remember when he said he believed we had a good squad, and that he believed we had a 20-30 goal a season striker in Brandon Hanlan? His words now are the total opposite. And yes, I know he was probably trying to give the players a lift back then, but the fact is he has changed his tune like the winds changes direction since he joined the club.
I'm intrigued to see how he gets on, and I desperately want him to succeed here, but I still have quite a few concerns. Can we actually trust what he says, or is it just bluster? I just want him to back up his words with results next season.

Lots of fine words, lots of harsh words, and many contradictory ones too, as you say. We'll just have to wait and see, I suppose. I'd give him ten games before judging, unless the opponents are deemed to be better than us, if we have a player injured, if it's raining or windy, or someone says the new squad need time to bed in. In which case, the ten games can be extended until everyone's satisfied, obvs.

Joeys comments have always to me about the there and then. Hanlan comments are a perfect example, he has just arrived at the club, previous manager said he could do nothing with the Strikers, Joey tried to build him back up again. If he said yeah I agree with Tisdale what would that have done for Hanlan.
I think it was obvious for long enough, Hanlan, Ayunga and Daly were not going to score us anywhere near 20 goals. We need 2 forwards in this window.
We could go on and on. Like Joey and many of us, I can't wait for this season to be over it has been a disaster.

I really thought Joey would come in, get the team in good enough shape to get us over the line then sort out the squad this summer and look upwards and actually thought it was the start of something good. Now the doubts are starting to creep in and the negatives of the form, potential sabbatical at her majesty’s pleasures is starting to look large.
I do agree with a lot of what he says but not sure we should be hearing it and the attempts to disassociate himself from relegation and managing a 4th tier team worries me.
Like another poster said I feel like it could be a cracking success or a complete failure and we’re gambling again. The thing is we can’t just tear it up and start again so I’m going to back number 3 project and roll with it! Just looking forward to getting the fans back in and getting behind whatever team is out there next season.

I’m fairly certain next season we will score more and win more. - 28 GD is pitiful, we will need +20 minimum to go up. That’s a big swing, if JB can find a way to half it that will represent good progress. Keep it real Peeps.

If Joey can’t build a side that can at LEAST finish in the playoff positions, in fairness he should sling his hook . I think he will as a minimum but I’m hoping and expecting top 3 .
