Irrational, blind trust. For the attributes being credited to Barton who, as a manager, has achieved near enough nothing. Plus, has an appalling record at our club. Being gobby is no substitute for ability DC achieved nothing before he came here. Gerry Francis achieved nothing before he came here: Garner achieved nothing before he came here, and didn't whilst here. I could go on, and on

Which is utter sh*t. On top of that he is rambling buffoon in his interviews. Other than all that, a great appointment...for the National League as a destination.

DC had won 2 or 3 promotions before he joined us. Yes with Salisbury City in the Wessex league Got promoted out of the Southern league, then out of the Conference South. At least get your facts right. Regardless of level he had a track record of success as a manager.

By what Barton has said it will be interesting to see what happens with Barrett if he returns to training unfit- if he does make the effort we could have a very goo9d player there. Think most people are betting on the exact minute Barton decides he has come back unfit for preseason training and sends him on his way. Question is whether rendering yourself unfit in the eyes of the manager is actually a breach of your contract and you can be sacked without compensation or paying up the remaining part of the contract.

Joeys comments have always to me about the there and then. Hanlan comments are a perfect example, he has just arrived at the club, previous manager said he could do nothing with the Strikers, Joey tried to build him back up again. If he said yeah I agree with Tisdale what would that have done for Hanlan. I think it was obvious for long enough, Hanlan, Ayunga and Daly were not going to score us anywhere near 20 goals. We need 2 forwards in this window. We could go on and on. Like Joey and many of us, I can't wait for this season to be over it has been a disaster. With one match of the season to go we can now assess the output of the striker department. No one was speaking in hindsight when they said that not only was there a lack of bodies but a lack of experience at scoring at L1 level amongst the senior strikers, it also didn’t bode well that the three junior strikers on the roster were loaned out at the same time. To some extent both Joey’s initial comments about Hanlan and TWs comments that the striking resources were adequate were cut from the same cloth...no point in undermining their fragile self confidence when there was still a chance to save your league status, however, now that ship has sailed... Daly, 3 goals in the first 8 league games was a promising start. Not scoring since is a long dry spell populated by some injury concerns that had already surfaced in the curtailed previous season. A league lower and hopefully more strikers in the squad could see him become a useful asset next term, hopefully a JB preseason will make him once again the player Palace were disappointed to lose. Ayunga, another one for whom injury took care of a lot of the early season and showed up our ridiculous lack of depth in the striking department. Yet, although he’s shown flashes of he player he might be, the player he is now has only scored in one league match out of the 45 matches we’ve completed. Hanlan, a wide man asked to fill the boots of a million pound striker whose 31 goals have won his new side promotion and himself a golden boot. The likelihood of him finding that a tough ask was always high and he stuttered. Losing confidence with every fluffed chance until he just couldn’t score even when presented with an open goal. These combined striking forces have now gone 15 consecutive matches without scoring. None of them are ready to be the man leading the line next season and will need big early confidence boosts to become the winners JB hopes they can be.

We all have our opinions on his fitness/weight. One would hope the club themselves have had concerns about him and hopefully made it clear what is expected. If they have, no doubt I would have thought, that terminating a contract would be made a lot easier.

Funny how people see things differently , agree with most of your posts , re- General chat . But not regarding mr Barton ! 🤔 Utg 💙
