Because faith is the answer people give when they dont have a good reason for something. If you dont have a good reason for a belief then why hold it at all? I have said consistently as have others let’s give Barton a chance re next season , if things don’t work out , I will be the first to acknowledge that . Certain posters of course are entitled to their opinion , but , IMO until he fails , let’s at least have a little bit of hope that he can deliver . That’s all elder, not rocket science .

Joey gets my full backing I don’t blame him for calling out these players they have let the fan base down big time I blame him for calling out these players. He has used every opportunity available to him to publicly criticise the players. Doing it now and then is fair enough. A rocket up their asses behind closed doors would be needed now and then but criticising the squad in every single interview from day one since mid February onwards is poor man management to me. Yes, we have a very poor squad. I'm sure the players know themselves that they haven't been good enough. But they don't need to be reminded about it on a daily basis from their manager and done publicly too. This constant criticism would eventually take it's toll on a person and that is why the players have performed worse as the games went on under JB. He has made us worse. His man management skills is so poor and I am baffled how some can't see this.
Im not having a go here at you so don't take this that way but do you know what it feels like to be told daily that you ain't good enough? I do. And to begin with, it motivated me to do better to prove that person wrong. But no matter how hard I tried, I kept getting told it wasn't good enough and that was just in front of a few people, not out in public for any Tom, Dick or Harry to see. Depression sank in and I needed help. My head was not in a good place and thankfully I left that job before I did something stupid. Now I am not saying our players are going through what I went through. I am just saying that being constantly told you are not good enough, especially told in public too, will take it's toll on a person and to me our decline under JB is completely understandable.
I said when JB came that I do not rate him as a person. But was told to ignore that and to give him a chance blah blah blah and he is a great manager (based on 2 seasons at Fleetwood and got into the play off because of covid ended the season early). But I haven't seen anything from his management so far with us that tells me he is a good manager. I think he is a fraud and I don't trust him whatsoever in the summer with funds to fix our club. He moans about everyone and everything and takes no ownership for his own shortcomings with us and he acts and speaks like we should be grateful that he is our manager and I swear he thinks he is bigger than the club. To say he won't accept this relegation on his CV speaks volumes of the sort of person and manager that he is.
Just my opinion, which I am entitled to have.

He has a worse record than PT and this wasn't PT team either and that didn't stop PT from getting sacked. I don't want him to have a chance next season as I don't rate him as a manager and therefore don't trust him with our budget to fix our club. It will just be a waste of funds and time because 10-15 games in, he will be sacked and we are back to square 1, waiting for January window to open for yet another manager to save us from another relegation battle. You can live in hope. I rather live in reality.

He was bought in to save us from relegation, he said he would achieve that and he failed. Enough said.
However as he is our manager for the forseeable future we should stand by him

However as he is our manager for the forseeable future we should stand by him And that's the position, I don't understand the blind faith in Barton but clearly we can't sack yet another manager. I would give him until Christmas (or until he starts blaming the fans which ever comes first). I am concerned though that we are putting all our eggs in one unproven basket again. To me it's all indicative of weak leadership at the club. We desperately need a stronger, more experienced board. Wael is a lovely chap but he needs better support/advice/challenge

We showed real promise early on under Barton but I don’t think we were the same after his Max Ehmer rant and I think he lost some of the dressing room after that.
I’m prepared to just write this season off as an absolute disaster on all fronts but once Barton has his own players in these excuses have to stop.

And god said to Moses, come forth, but he came fifth. Nothing like irrational blind faith is there. If he’d taken the tablets earlier he would’ve come where god said he would!

PT needed body's and he failed. JB hasn't been able to sign anybody, PT had the opportunity...

He only did that really towards the final few games of the seasons as it was clear we were down from MK dons on wards. Im a fan of his, but I think that some of his comments in his last few interviews about getting rid of the lot of them may not help the morol of the players ( but f**k it he is telling the truth and hopefully most of this group won't be here in a few months time) this group have let us down and stole living during the past nine months. Him talking about past management and recruitment may not be to everyone's taste but is refreshing compared to the rambling of BG as it's the truth.

It seems as soon as Barton arrived he destroyed Ehmer, the club captain, in a press interview? What actual good did that do the club? I can't recall Ehmer was particularly poor before Barton arrived, he was certainly better than calamity Baldwin. As far as all the players stealing a living were posters say that before Barton arrived when we weren't even in the bottom 4? Barton seems good at manipulating both the local press and the fan base so only the players get the blame and he stays whiter than white. Even next month's court case seems to have been swept under the carpet as if it's not going to take place or that a positive outcome is now a formality.

You are indeed entitled to your opinion , i also do not believe public humiliation by a manager in any field of work is acceptable, but then again is not this forum guilty of the same thing in its comments about BG for instance and indeed are you not guilty of the same thing with your public character assassination of JB? I agree that constantly being told you are worthless is not at all constructive or pleasant and can lead to very tragic outcomes, i think all users of public forums should stop and think before posting such comments .

I wanted him as soon as Tisdale was got rid of.
But...
He is divisive, some of the things he has said to the press has made my balls ache. He has a bit if a dodgy past with a court case coming up and if you look at his social media he is into a few strange spiritual practices. There is ALWAYS going to be the group of people that want him out, there was with DC,BG,GC,PT and any other manager we get in, some have valid reasons, others do it just to get a reaction, if we got José Mourinho people would moan, thats never going to change in people. Since December 2018 7 people have managed us that's one every 4 months on average (I've included Maher and Widdrington) we can't go on like that, we ought to consider ourselves lucky JB gave us a shot, no decent manager is going to look at that record and take us seriously. so whether you're for or against I believe, with all of his faults, we are lucky to have him and his team and I'm prepared to stand by him for the long term.
On another note I'm also happy that over the months JB has been with us he has said everything I've wanted to scream at them from the stands, BG and PT seemed like they were too soft, and I wanted them to be shouted at, for the most part the team under performed and made immature mistakes, that wasn't a lack of skill it was lack of concentration and focus... they didn't care and BG and PT were to nice to shout at them

Sorry halifax but to compare the public shaming of the players and the club by the manager to the press, to the shared opinions of the fans on a fan's forum, is comparing apples with oranges. It is not a comparison. The manager is working with the players every day. It is literally his job to coach them, manage them and get the best out of them. This forum is a place for us minority of fans to discuss our opinions about all things Gas. I would like to think that none or not many of us would actually tag any players or staff on Twitter in a horrible rant as that's nasty behaviour, but the point is this is what forums are for. If a player wants to actively scroll through this forum to see what people think of him, then that's their prerogative. It's nothing at all like their manager slamming them and shaming them at every opportunity to the press for the last couple of months. cj is right, we have gotten progressively worse since Barton came in, the results bear that as a fact. Confidence is at an all time low. Barton has overseen that decline. Nonetheless, I still want to see how he does over the summer and into next season. He better succeed and cut the excuses because the Gasheads won't stand for any more of them once he has had a transfer window.

I always find a little bit strange, in fact wonder what occupies the minds of people, when they feel compelled to alter other members posts. But if by so doing Bideford you feel better this morning then thats fine. I hope you find something better to do this Bank Holiday. Maybe read a book?
