Anybody else looked at the contracted players list and wonder how we've got lumbered with such dross? Carlts2020/Garner is on here regularly giving it the big one but looking at the players on that list apart from Jaakola and Nicholson plus possibly Kilgour and Williams, senior, I'd be glad to see the back of all of them apart from the Development Squad players, I'd imagine Barton feels the same way.

Not concerned about any of the departing players , I only wish we could get rid of the lot them and start again , worst bunch of ‘players’ ever and I will never forget how sh** and uncommitted they all were Totally agree with this Okebourne ... Worry is though a lot of the sh** shower are still here next season - Desperately need to move some out either on Loan or for free . Whoever signed off some of these contracts needs castrating!! I think a fair few more will go yet, offered up as free transfers.. more the better imo as well

23 contracted players left and 6 of those are u23 players who haven’t and won’t likely figure much. The 17 first team players left I expect to see minimum 5 move on and find new clubs. That would leave us 12 plus 6 youngsters, so room for 7-8 signings I reckon. On another note not sad to see any of those on the released list leave. Edit: sorry 24 with Martinez and 26 if Hulbert and Tomlinson sign new deals We need more than 7-8 new players if we going to mount a serious promotion challenge: AJ New RB, New CH, Kilgour/Harries, New LB New LW/Nicholson when fit, Grant, New ACM/Westbrook, New RW/Rodman New 10/Hanlan New CF/Ayunga We need 8 new players just for the starting 11, plus a back up goalie & RB/LB, DCM and wingers.

We also need to move on quite a few on the retained list. If not, we could have a number of players just sat around doing nothing assuming that we can get the 7-8 signings in that we will need to avoid a relegation fight.

The majority will have to go. The mem wont be a healthy place if we dont get off to a flyer with these players. They crumble without a crowd.the bridge between them and us I dont think will ever be rebuilt

Yes. My heart sank when I saw that list. 23 players, plus two more who have been offered deals. Albeit some of these are youngsters.

Just hope this doesn't backfire and we can't attract replacements due to being a "sacking" club?

Of course it is. Unless the player agrees to terminate the contract, you can't just kick them out of the club! No doubt plenty more will move on over the summer. I’m sure that a number of the contracted players will have been told they are unlikely to feature much next season and they are free to ask their agents to sound out interest from other clubs. We’ll probably see a few leave in those circumstances. Fingers crossed that the 3 or 4 signings we have close to completion do actually go through to get a bit of a ‘feel good factor’ back! I hope so because to be honest we’ve still been left with all the crap

Josh Barrett, James Daly, Josh Grant, Cam Hargreaves, Luca Hoole, Ryan Jones, Alfie Kilgour, Ben Liddle, Tom Mehew, Kieran Phillips, Zain Walker, Jed Ward, Jonah Ayunga, Jack Baldwin, Max Ehmer, Brandon Hanlan, Cian Harries, Anssi Jaakkola, Sam Nicholson, Alex Rodman, David Tutonda, Zain Westbrooke and George Williams and pablo Martinez.
From this list I can see Daly, haregreaves, Baldwin, Ehmer, Harries, Jaakkola, tutonda and Westbrooke leaving via either being told to find new clubs or other clubs coming in for them

Need joey to force a few to consider their futures, as can t see some featuring again, would hope none were on Bennett wonga wages, making an exit highly unlikely.

I think you may be right and we will possibly need more than 7-8, I was only looking at numbers and what room we may have. I think we will need minimum 2 x CB, 1LB, 2 x CM, 2 x ST, 1 maybe 2 wide men and another goalie if we lose Jaakkola

In hindsight, is is that much of a surprise that Leahy has left? Plenty of clubs would love his goal record in their team, he has experience as captain at the end of the season. It's easier to go down a league than go up, he's from Midlands area I believe so not exactly that close to home. Burton, Shrewsbury etc would be an option I'd imagine, maybe even Cheltenham (which would be depressing!)

These players have gotten away with so many inept performances, I fear that if we start badly with the current lot , the mem will be quite a hostile place and rightly so.

For those criticising how many players are still under contract, it's worth bearing in mind the amount of players that have left us on the cheap/ free because of short contracts.
It's a hard one to balance..

Shame about Leahy, but understandable from his point of view. Should get a League One club easily enough. . I was told two weeks ago he was wanted by Cheltenham, the big league one side, up north.
