For those criticising how many players are still under contract, it's worth bearing in mind the amount of players that have left us on the cheap/ free because of short contracts. It's a hard one to balance.. I make that only 1...

George Nurse from Bristol City. Heard it here first…. Excellent player, have watched since he was a kid I’ve followed him too and has a hell of a left foot! I can see City letting him go as they have 3 LB’s. Ipswich and Oxford interested apparently so bit of competition.

It's a hard one to balance.. Agreed. We had our success under DC, when giving out one year deals. But then we lost player’s on the cheap. It’s since we started given out longer deals, we have struggled. It’s hard finding the right balance.

In hindsight, is is that much of a surprise that Leahy has left? Plenty of clubs would love his goal record in their team, he has experience as captain at the end of the season. It's easier to go down a league than go up, he's from Midlands area I believe so not exactly that close to home. Burton, Shrewsbury etc would be an option I'd imagine, maybe even Cheltenham (which would be depressing!) Not sure it matters when he comes from it's where he now calls home, Tom Nichols still seems to live locally from his Insta posts as does Liam Sercombe. If Rovers players have taken a 25%(?) pay cut following our relegation then he could probably get a similar pay rise from a L1 side, plus play at a higher level.

Of course it matters (to most people) unless he bought a place here. What a ridiculous comment. Nichols and Sercombe were both from Exeter which isn't far away anyway.

It's a hard one to balance.. Not really, just don't offer 2 year contracts to average young players, only Grant, Daly and Hanlan probably warranted 2 year contract the rest would have probably snatched our hands off for a 12 months contract, no wonder "Dave" couldn't stop smiling after he signed for us, I bet he couldn't believe he'd bagged a 2 year contract at an L1 cub after he left Barnet.

George Nurse from Bristol City. Heard it here first…. Are you confident? I’ve heard preference is to stay local so Oxford or Gas. Mark Ashton really rates him hence the Ipswich link. So nothing guaranteed but could easily play League 1. I’ve heard second hand so couldn’t say 100%

Oh come off it mate. 2 year contracts are standard. The issue isn't the contract, it's how sh*t they are. No player under the age of 32 would come and play for 1 year contracts only. You think Westbrooke, Ehmer, Nicholson and Williams would have "snatched out hands off for a 12 months contract"? Really?

Is anyone really surprised about Leahy? Where have you been for the last 30 years? We lose our top scorer every summer!

Apart from Anssi and Nicholson I wouldn't mind if all of the remaining senior 'Retained List' players went tbh.
With the exception of Martinez, Walker, Hargreaves etc the rest as a collective have been an absolute embarrassment. Complete and utter wasters.
Hindsights a wonderful thing though, eh!
I think most were happy when Ehmer(Gillingham club captain with some of the best Defensive stats in the division), Westbrooke(Over 30 games for the runaway Champions, the previous season), Ozthumer(A player who has impressed at this level), Josh Grant(From Chelseas academy) signed before the season started.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. He was man of the match for his first two starts, but then had a muscle problem and never rediscovered that form. If he didn’t pick up the injury and carried on that form and we lost him for nothing, everyone would have moaned.
