My fear is the defence will be solid, giving little away, only for the team to find scoring regularly a real problem. Hence 0-0 and 1-1 type games. UTG.

Id try and get Offrande Zanzala from Carlisle who is out of contract On what basis as 5 goals from 20 odd games last season hardly suggests he's the proven scorer we need, nor any better than we've already got in the squad?

Just my personal preference, i am allowed an opinion arent i?...do you seriously expect BRFC to pay for a proven scorer? Plus we can all sing "Um-bongo Um bongo.........Zanzala drinks it in the Congo"

Bang on mate... the list that I put together the other day wasn't really inline with your ask of regular 20 goal a season but as far as some goal scorers it may be a start James Norwood Paul Mullin Conor McAleny Brett Pitman John Akinde Edit: Do you think that a full Joey Barton pre season could bring Ayunga/Hanlan into the realms of bagging 15+ Goals? No thanks to any of them unless it is for 1 year, as for Ayunga and Hanlan. Hanlan I think will chip in 8 or 9 a season, Ayunga, wouldn't be surprised to see him go out on loan Pitman hardly sent the world on fire last year, scorning three more than Brandon, and no I don’t want to see Akinde in a Rovers shirt again.!

As I had never heard of Anderton previously, I went on the Carlisle forum to see what their fans thought of his exit to us. A tad worryingly, the general consensus seems to be that they're glad to see the back of him, some describing him as a liability.
Of course, he could turn out to be a great signing for us, and I certainly hope he does, but it is a bit worrying. Nonetheless, we will have Ryan Jones to hopefully give him some decent competition.

He's had 3 permanent clubs and a lot of loans to gain experience due to the fact he was on the books of Everton until the age of 24. His 21 goals this season is quite impressive considering he was versatile enough to be moved about and play several different roles.

I can see Jones' development coming further forward. Up until fairly recently his position was as an attacking midfielder/no 10 or a wide midfielder and he used to score quite a few goals in the youth teams at Clevedon and Weston.

Don’t write off Tutonda either, I think he’d make a genuinely good left back in League Two.

Its a good start can’t argue that. Striker thats the biggie every club wants a 20 goal striker like gold dust can jb get one? Only time will tell Not aimed at you but can anyone on here provide a list of realistic, proven at this level, regular 20 goal a season players who could form a short list? It might make some realise this is going to be difficult - certainly harder than a computer game that many think on here !!! When you consider only 4 players scored 20 or more goals this season in league one its obviously a nice thing to have but not essential. You might be better placed with 3 strikers who score 14+ goals . A 1 in 3 ish kind of return is more realistic.

That’s a tad harsh on Williams. He did ok coming into a complete mess of a squad with no confidence. He looked tidy at the start and did as well as anyone else in defence imo. Surrounded by better, more determined players I’m sure he’ll do ok and get better. UTG! Thought Williams was a liability at times and cost us quite a few goals. Certainly a position I'd look to upgrade if possible. Agree with that, he looked lost most of the time and out of position so many times.

I actually think the full backs were made to look worse than they actually are by the ineffectiveness of our back three. Williams was reasonable IMO There is no point -playing three at the back when two out of three can't pass a ball anbd the other is a good passer but struggles for pace. Williams will be a reasonable full back at League 2 level.

Joey has a distinct advantage in the transfer market.
“Would you like to play for this club managed by some bloke you’ve never heard of who is mainly non-league or would you like to be managed by a nationally known TV and Twitter celebrity?”
Of course. Money is king but you can’t say that it wouldn’t come into it.
If I was a player I know who in league 2 I would want to play for. Don’t forget Joey’s players will become known through association

I guess that depends on what reputation JB's built up as a manager?

It will be very interesting to see what attacking players join us and whether we can acquire players who have actually scored goals at that level or above. I very much hope that JB can influence those sort of players to come to us. I would like to see three strikers come in who can each score 10-15 goals.

Anderton is a left back and the Carlisle manager was playing him as a centre half - which he ain’t. That’s why he got bad press. The more knowledgeable supporters wanted him to stay

Haha I would like that too, but methinks that's highly unlikely. 1 or 2 would be nice enough.
