Not sure why he hasn't been given a chance on the wing, considering we still seem to be searching for a winger.
Best crosser of the ball in the team, imo (apart from LDV, obviously).

He was useless on the wing for his appearences last season. Probably had 4-5 good games the year before to which that idiot Ward decided to give him a three year deal. He was naturally brought through as a striker. Gosling is just better and I don't even really rate Gosling, Monkhouse, LDV and Balanta are miles better.

Goldberg hasn't been given a chance so deserved to start yesterday. I agree Gosling is poor but Clarke views Harrison as a striker hence having Gosling on the bench ahead of him. Out of interest why do you think a loan signing deserves a chance over one of our own contracted players? Harrison score an hat trick at Dorchester to prove he can score but seems to have been overlooked ever since. Because what is the point of making a loan signing in the first place if we are not going to give them a game?

His cross for Kaid against Wimbledon to give us 3 points last season was superb. Next game DC dropped him !!

The games I have seen him play in Ellis has come on as a sub. He has made an impact for 5 minutes and then seems to settle into anonymity for the rest of the game apart from the occasional spark. I like the lad but for me he doesn't seem to rise to his full potential.

IMO Ellis has been treated unfairly, and Clarke wont give him a run in the side. Scored a hat trick at Dorchester and put two on a plate for monkhouse and taylor, what more can the kid do ? we were crying out for him to at least come off the bench yesterday, because it was obvious neither balanta, blissett, Wall or Taylor were going to score. We're not playing in the same league as Dorchester, though.

He scores a hat trick in the cup for our biggest win in eons and is back on the bench a game later !! We have scored 1 goal more than the bottom club in this league having played 2 games more !! we need a couple of goal scorers to stand any chance of getting back in the league. Give Ellis the Chance to be one of them. He has shown he can do it !!! Cannot believe we leave his Talent in the Reserves !!!

He hasn't shown he can do it bar probably a couple of full games and a handful sub appearances. He's been crap in a lot more than that. We don't need to start our fifth best striker

DC doesn't rate Harrison i think that is pretty conclusive and i think some of that is personal. FWIW he has been poor recently, but i would always have Ellis on the bench cause he can do something others can't - make an opening/score from nothing, and that's what you need from a substitute if required.

In a competitive environment, sometimes players have to force their way in when they get the chance. If Ellis gets 25 minutes here and there, he needs to light up the match in those minutes. Even if he doesn't score, he needs to force things to happen, getting the crowd up, going at it like Sinclair, but with shooting boots on. He can't expect the luxury of a long run in the team unless he looks too good to leave out.
To put it metaphorically: this isn't an audition; the play is on a run and the lead roles are taken by Blisset and Taylor. If he wants to put them into the shade, what's he got?

I don't think Ellis' time here is up but he needs to go out on loan, to get regular games and to find himself as a player. You can tell he hasn't quite managed that yet. I honestly think he needs 10-15 games on the trot to makes some mistakes, and eventually he could well get going. But we haven't got time to give him that here.
