Does anyone know if Ellis is injured or just out of favour again ? I feel that the lad has not been given the run of games up front that some of our other strikers have had which in view of his pace and skill and age , is a great shame.

Out of favour I would imagine. I don't think he has been treated unfairly. Just hasn't done quite enough.

It almost seems a repeat of Las season again, our strikers can't score away from home but potentially our best young striker's gone missing, not sure what Goldberg or Gosling offers he doesn't?

IMO Ellis has been treated unfairly, and Clarke wont give him a run in the side. Scored a hat trick at Dorchester and put two on a plate for monkhouse and taylor, what more can the kid do ? we were crying out for him to at least come off the bench yesterday, because it was obvious neither balanta, blissett, Wall or Taylor were going to score.

Still our second highest goal scorer this season !

Goldberg hasn't been given a chance so deserved to start yesterday. I agree Gosling is poor but Clarke views Harrison as a striker hence having Gosling on the bench ahead of him.

This is where I have concerns over DC . His ability to be creative up front and make things happen. Ellis makes things happen. The other six strikers we have used don't. ( Blissett when he is Profit may do ) ? We could lose Ellis and our loan players could go back to their clubs in Jan. ........ Then what ? Dear Ellis, I know you haven't played for most of the season but could you play up front and get us into playoffs. Love from DC !!

It does look like Ellis has been sidelined lately while other players have come in on loan. I haven't heard he is injured, so if fit I would have expected him to at least make the bench in the last few games.

Ellis always looks like something is going to happen but it never quite comes off. He is a bit lightweight at times as well. He doesn't seem very effective when he starts games.

I know he started at Dorchester ! He may have had two other starts this season. His set up play and scoring when on goal is better than other strikers we have. I know he missed a volley at Tranmere and had back to goal for the 20 odd mins v Barnet taking high balls or not as the case may have been. Surely with a Strike force that has scored less than the bottom club in the Conference Ellis should have a proper run up front with Ball on the carpet football.

A big powerful striker is essential for this league (Blissett will hopefully be our man) and Taylor is a good all round footballer. I could see a case for bringing Harrison off the bench like before but not sure about him starting games.

Ellis Harrison is a myth.
I've not heard someone get so much hype over a handful of decent games and a absolute load more terrible games. Added with not the best attitude and probably a league 2 wage, hopefully we can get rid.

I would have him up front with Blissett and Taylor on the bench. Taylor has started to come good of late but is still missing good opportunities. We need Harrison to be involved and to get some confidence. To be told to go out and take your opportunity which he did by scoring three then getting 65 mins in the next match then benched seemed a weird way of Managing a confidence player.

Taylor is 10x the player Ellis Harrison is, misses or not.

One thing I will say is that I would have subbed Taylor in that game and not Harrison. Maybe Harrison like Gosling has found his level? Are they better than average conference players?

Absolutely no way would I have Harrison starting ahead of Taylor or Blissett at the minute. He did well at Dorchester and has scored a couple of other goals this year but his all-round contribution to the team is not as good as his colleagues. DC knows he is not a natural finisher and is a headless chicken most of the time (watch MS and SY shout at him every two seconds telling him where to be on the pitch because of his awful positional awareness) so he is choosing players in the squad that have proven they are better than that - Bliss has a lot of potential, Taylor has scored goals at this level, Wall has got some in this division too and Goldberg has been prolific in the level below.
I have much preferred EH's attitude this year and think he is giving himself a chance but I don't think DC is mistreating him or being unfair. I hope he keeps working hard and gets a chance at some point but right now we have others, rightly, ahead of him.

EH probably has not had the service which would best suit him. But having said that if he spent more time upright rather than on the ground at the slightest knock and moaning at the inept referees he perhaps would be more beneficial to the team. Should be worth a place on the bench though before the likes of Gosling

Out of interest why do you think a loan signing deserves a chance over one of our own contracted players? Harrison score an hat trick at Dorchester to prove he can score but seems to have been overlooked ever since.

I don't think you can class a hat trick against a team low down the league in the Evo Stick Southern as proving he can score. Taylor has proven he's better, Blissett is proven better, Wall has got proven goals in this league and Goldberg has proven goals and player of the year the league below. Ellis hasn't really proven anything in his career as of yet. He's 5th choice at the moment and I wouldn't put him above any of the aforementioned strikers.

People saying he's been mistreated, are you there in training everyday? Are you privy to all the interactions between DC and Ellis? Could understand these comments then, if you give us a bit more.
