Thought it was a decent performance tonight, just shows with 2 up top and playing to your strengths we looked a different team to Saturday.
Finley looked quality in the middle and the passing was crisp and better, we were wasteful yes but on another day we could have been 3 up by half time, Luke Thomas was unlucky not to score, and Aaron collins if he had been more confident and more selfish would have scored.
Liked the support given to joey at the end, been tough for him recently both on and off the grass.
Not getting the party poppers out yet, we dust ourselves down and onto the next project Exeter.

This is the best we have played in months (years). Really purposeful football - a pleasure to watch. We have looked exciting going forward for sure but let’s not forget the defending from the front when Oldham have the ball. Surely, everyone on here must be happy with this performance in first half. 1-0. Could easily have been more. The first half was up there with the 2 great performances from last season

Really enjoyed first half, how we didn't get a pen when Collins was pushed in the back i don't know. Finlay was excellent, tenacious and his weight of passing was spot on on most occasions. Collins had good movement and can shift, Thomas missed a great chance but was good to see the manager at the end with his arm around him giving a quiet talk. Thought Pitman looked totally unfit, i know he is not very mobile but he would of struggled to out run me. To cellebrate a goal with my fellow gasheads again was special too. UTG

Just got back , much better , first half was good , second half not so much but those boys are certainly playing for the gaffer. Finley , Anderson , Collins and Rodders has really good games , when this lot click and get it together a bit more I think we have some good potential there, Also , the ref was an absolute w**ker. So happy to finally have a win and a clean sheet, we’ll done boys , UTG !!!

Enjoyed that. Finley and Saunders top quality. Rodders impressive too. And a clean sheet. Loved the intensity of 1st half, but looked like strangers at times. Deliberate slow down in 2nd and pinned down by Oldham. But still looked solid. Not sure if we could have stepped it up for a 2nd if we needed to but good game management made that irrelevant. Keep that up for Exeter please 👍

First half we were positive, played on the front foot, with energy, attacking intent and chances created. Finley and Anderson excellent, Rodman made a difference and put in some decent crosses, Collins dangerous. Quiet second half with energy levels fading, but to be expected with players striving for full fitness. Only real worry was when we switched off and gave Nicky Adams acres of space, but thankfully he fluffed his chance and blazed miles over the bar. That chance summed up Oldham who looked a very poor side. Overall a better display with plenty of positives to take forward and build upon. Onwards and upwards now hopefully

Remarkably quiet tonight. Especially given WE WON. Was thinking the same. It’s almost as if people want us to lose, so they can say I told you so.

Turns out the scanners aren't working. Checking tickets by hand. The scanner was fine - but only half the turnstiles were open - maybe some of the staff had Covid? First turnstile I went through (22) the scanner did not work. It was not manned so I was instructed to go through 23 which worked

First half was really good. Despite only having 41% possession according to iFollow we seemed dominant and created enough vhances to warrant at least a 2 goal lead.
Unfortunately we only took 1 and never after a slightly disappointing second half, could have let the points slip. Oldham had at least 1 chance which they probably should have scored.
Overall, a much improved showing and some encouraging signs that things are moving in the right direction.

Delighted with the win and performance in first half was superb.
Lots of good individual performances - Finley, Grant, Anderson and Saunders the picks for me.
Great support too. Backed the boys from start to finish.
Onto Exeter. UTG!

Oh, the difference a performance makes.
Still hate JB but very happy with the first half performance.
Second half, we sat back a little too much.
Looked like a team today. Very happy with that.

Great to get the first win and break the cycle of losing. I remember bumping into the players on the way back from Lincoln in the Conference season and they spoke of the relief of winning away and getting the monkey off their backs. Let’s hope this win serves as the same sort of catalyst to the season.

I did not follow the thread because I was enjoying the game and did not have time to check my phone. I have only looked at it since I got home. Remember we are not used to going to evening games and getting home late, perhaps some are tired or catching up with partners or family rather than looking on here

I think when we lose people use the forum as a release for the frustrations that’s built up inside them from watching the game. When you win you kind of don’t have to do that. I don’t think anyone wants us to lose at all.

First half was so enjoyable to see our players always looking forward rather than backwards. The game should have been out of reach by half time and I think as the forwards continue to recover from their injuries that ruthless edge should come with it.
Finley was tenacious without the ball and calm with it. Saunders looked much more effective with a partner and playing slightly wider using his pace. Collins intelligent running, spinning off into the channels and showing decent pace and ability to dribble forward with it. Anderson and Rodman as wing backs really helped turn defence into attack much quicker, obviously as expected with their wingers instinct to carry the ball forward and get crosses in.
More than anything it was so so so good to finally hear the roar of the mem once again.
