When are our supporters going to learn that there comes a time where you have to stick with what we have? It seems now that any defeat starts a certain group off and all it provides is criticism of the players we have with no regard whatsoever for the opponents or the actual performance. Yesterday is a fine example of this with criticisms of for example the defenders when we restricted a team with 100% home record to a handful of chances and yet there is criticism of three of the four defenders when our keeper has only had to make one difficult save in 95 minutes and the only goal conceded was due entirely to a mistake by Saunders, In my book none of the defenders deserved less than a six and the defending was far better than that in the win over Crawley! The sign of a team that has not gelled is where individuals look reasonable but together they are not producing enough and I feel that is the position we are in at present.
Personally I would totally scrap the ideal of playing one up front because we don't have enough goals in the team to back up the lone striker, We have tried this all season and it just isn't working. Sadly our supporters have reached the stage IMO where they are driving players away from the club and the most evidence of this was in Hanlon who could have been a handful this season especially alongside a Clarke or a Pitman. I feel there are signs that we do have some good players who are all more than capable of playing at League 2 at the least and most at League 1 level. I actually thought that Whelan looked very disciplined and composed in the first half yesterday and Finley and Evans both had a good first half too. Anderson has shown signs of being a good winger and Nicholson is obviously class. I also thought Brown when he came on looked a useful player. For me the only disappointments individually so far have been Coutts, Rodman, Collins, Thomas and Saunders and this IMO has been the big problem because three of those four are strikers. I do actually think they all have ability and we really need them to start to show their true ability and I amn sure things will improve. We have to decide who we are going to play up front and give them a chance to from a partnership and the same goes for the wide and midfield positions. Personally I would go for Nicholson to play upfront with Pitman and then a midfield 4 of Evans, Finley, Whelan and Anderson or Thomas. This team should be more than capable of playing top0 end League 2 but if we keep changing it everyweek it will never gel.
Belshaw
Grant Taylor Hughes Brown
Anderson or Thomas, Whelan, Finley,Evans
Pitman, Nicholson.

It's just what happens when you post a lot of what you think. I don't think calling people laughing stocks because they happen to disagree with you over the present/future of the management is too clever. Anyone could call you a laughing stock for believing JB would keep us up, for example.

I agree with what you say SteveK the reason why a lot of gasheads r frustrated is the same problems of last season are being repeated a lack of goals and mistakes at the back gifting the opposition goals I back this manager but my patience is running thin we need to start winning games especially away

Surely you can see it is stupid to criticise defenders who have restricted opponents who have won 17 out of 19 home League games to 2 shots of note!!! Especially when those same poeople were praising a defence last week that gave opponents probably twelve chances to score!!

Steve you say the supporters are driving away players do you not think the public outburst of a certain manager has anything to do with why players have jumped ship ! We are probably a laughing stock because of who we employed as a manager ! Can’t think of many clubs that would employ him ? I think Fleetwood have had a lucky escape

Surely you can see it is stupid to back a manger who’s lost 18 games in 27 and recruited a squad severely lacking in key areas. Especially when he’s also a hugely questionable character as well. We can all play this game 😀

Eh? I'm sure many of us understand this is what we have but that doesn't mean we have to be happy??!! Your message is more fitting if it says "It seems now that any win starts a certain group off".
JB has a horrid record and deserves the constant calls saying he isn't up to the job. He's also an absolute scum of a human but let's not get into that.

I'm a fan, turn up to support every home game, and the few away games, laughing stock?
Insulting to say the least.

"Our supporters are becoming a laughing stock"
Goes perfectly well with what has been served to them for the past 20 months or so by the managers and players.
On the 21st December 2019, we drew with Peterborough and sat 2nd in L1.
Since then, we have...
Played 67 league games. Won 13. Drew 13. Lost 41. Scored 52. Conceded 104. Won 52 points from a possible 201 points available and have the goal difference of -52.
We have dropped from 2nd in L1 to 21st in L2. Was 46th out of the 92 league teams but now 89th of 92. We have got new club records for the wrong reasons such has games without goals and games lost and lack of points won. We haven't won in our last 19 away games. Our current managers league stats are P25 W5 D3 L17 18 points from a possible 75 points.
But apparently, it's our supporters who are becoming a laughing stock.

What a ridiculous thread from someone with an over inflated sense of his own importance and intolerance of any dissenting views.
The supporters of this club are most definitely NOT becoming a laughing stock.
If anything they are probably admired for continuing to support a group of players and manager who certainly are becoming a laughing stock.
This is Stick With Barton logic taken to the max.
In fact it's a little creepy, along with Steve's other views.
Anywho disagrees is a laughing stock, disloyal and also causing the players to lose games because their disloyalty is preventing the team from gelling!?
Bizarre thinking.

The defending was ok yesterday, but the distribution from our defenders was appaling, particularly in the second half. Literally lost count of the amount of times Hughes and Anderton smashed a long diagonal which drifted out going near nobody. For me thats the main reason we struggled to create anything. Our offensive players had nothing to work on.
We definately missed Grant in the middle of midfield. He was wasted at right back.

Supporters are becoming a laughing stock ? How do you work that out then , we have all stuck behind this club throughout an absolute torrid run of results and performances over the past couple of seasons with probably the worst football I have ever seen at any level. We deserve bloody medals not sh**ty little threads like this being created !!! I’ll support rovers forever but it doesn’t mean I go along with everything the club does , we’re crap in every aspect of the club both on and off the pitch and I’m genuinely certain that if this current trend of poor performances doesn’t change soon , then conference football will be back at the mem next year and I tell you what , then it will be a huge test of everyone’s loyalty to go through the embarrassment of it all again !!!! We have many twats like everyone does following the club but the vast majority are great and are deserving of much , much more !

I'm not sure it's the supporters driving players away from the club or the other way around.... This why I'm not sure about the set up at the club at moment.... We're clearly divided, we don't know who's driving who and its a bloody nightmare....
