Let’s get a build up thread started for this shall we?
Tough game considering where they are in the table but we’ve won the last 3 games at home in all competitions going into it, so there’s that to be positive about.
One thing I’m hoping for, is that we drop the wingback system, if just temporarily. I don’t think we have the personnel currently with our injuries to pull it off effectively, but we do have some good wingers the likes of Thomas, Nicholson and Anderson who could be utilised if we went to 4 at the back. The only worry is I don’t think we have many natural fullbacks, quite a bizarre one really.
Also I’m looking forward to seeing Evans in person for the first time, looks nifty from what I’ve seen watching on from Ifollow.

The only positive I can think of is - as you say - we aren't away!!!!
Orient have started pretty well, but this is sort of game we've got to be winning, period.
I do wonder whether Barton will be sacked if we lose this one. I don't see any way he could be kept on surely.

Aye, get the ball down and play to our strengths
4-2-3-1
Belshaw Hoole or Grant Kilgour Taylor (Marking Smith) Anderton Finley Grant or Whelan/Coutts (depending on Hoole) Anderson Evans Thomas or Saunders (Both great options from the Bench too) Pitman or Collins (You want goals so Pitman edges it for starting)
GK RB CB CB LB DM DM RW AM LW CF

Not sure he would go after Saturday but we’re definitely getting to the point now where we really need to be seeing some positive signs - even if it is a narrow draw or defeat but much better performance. I think if we have two poor performances against orient and Walsall and then get turned over by BG’s Swindon at home, then that will be the game where his support from most fans and Wael would surely evaporate. Really hoping Saturday is the day everything clicks though and we go on a winning run.

I want to see a bit more urgency from us and we simply must cut out the individuals errors that keep plaguing our game as of late. We haven’t really been played off the park at all this season other than the first 30 of the Exeter game, we’ve just come up against teams that have mostly been able to retain the ball a bit better and create a few more clear cut chances. We’re approaching the point of the season where assessments are starting to be made, not quite there yet though I’d say, Barton will want to keep the good home form and be a bit further up the table when Wael makes his.

Isn’t that what Sam Finley said in his last interview, that his team mates need to have more courage on the ball, play more on the deck and eradicate the individual mistakes. Admittedly he was talking about our away form but I think it applies to all performances. At least the players are thinking the same things we are so fingers crossed.🤞

Sadly got to the point where I don't know who is likely to play, have little faith and am not really excited in whoever does, might listen but not overly bothered if I miss it and just hope for 3 points but don't expect them.

Need to get Evans Thomas and Nicho firing and creating chances for collins and saunders, and later on Danny Dyer 😂

I recall after a slow start in the conference the fans littered the training ground with Clarke out posters. Luckily the board were strong enough to resist a knee jerk reaction to supporter unrest … that vastly overhauled squad started remembering each other’s names and what they were taught in training and went on a promotion winning run, DC is now afforded hero status whenever he gets near Bristol.
. I know JB polarises opinion, we all know he could be out if either court case goes belly up for him and in so doing his contract is breached by a conviction for a criminal act but week on week calls for his head are counter productive at the moment. He’s only just assembled this squad and whether you trust him or not the players he’s signed do trust him and he is likely to get better performances out of them than the next manager who usurps him and then has to build the relationships up from scratch again. There should be a moratorium on manager out calls and let him get on with getting more consistent performances out of the team. If both court cases turn out positive for him and the team is still languishing in the lower reaches at that point then we can revisit the JB out bandwagon but for now let’s see if we can unite as a fanbase for a while and support them win, lose or draw. A couple of months not calling for a regime change every week might do us all some good.

This is the acid test, home v a decent side, where as we could have some confidence to beat strugglers Oldham and Crawley the same can't be said of this one, i hope more than expect.

Massive season defining game IMO . Win and we get the ball rolling, lose and it’s meltdown time and Barton will be / should be gone if we don’t beat Swindon the week after.
Always hopeful but not confident.

I think we will lose this one 2-0. I don't see how we would have enough goals in us to win.
Every game is a crucial game for JB. The problem is that JB has lost nearly every crucial game he has managed for us.
Really want to be proved wrong on this one. Will gladly admit to being wrong come 5pm on Saturday!
