cj, Thanks for your advice om attack the post not the poster when LJG just constantly attacks me.He does not seem to have a view of his own just trolls mine. Anybody is entitled to have their view on any player or the Manager but there are people who will use every thread no matter what its subject to be an attack on JB.

If you don't like it then why do you read and comment on threads that is actually about JB, like this thread? I totally understand your point about it happening on non JB threads but when things are going soooooo bad and the buck stops with the manager, you kind of have to accept this will happen.
Anyway, I'm off to bed. Hopefully I will wake up and we are back in December 2019 - before Covid 19 and before GC left because since then, everything has been a complete sh** storm.

Start of the season i was in. after today I'm definitely Barton "Out
I've watched all the home games this season and barring the first 45 minutes against Oldham (that's only because they're terrible) it's been like watching the same game over, and over again with not plan b.
Against Leyton Orient we were 1-0 17 minutes, 2-0 33 minutes, 3-0 41 minutes. JB waits until the 2nd half to make changes. Why not after 17 or 33 minutes? Makes no sense how he expects different outcome by not changing the formation or anything. I can see why he never made changes to the midfield because the ball was hardly there. In defence then hoofed to Pitman/Collins. No plan B
And the balance if the squad is not really much different to when BG and PT was in charge imo.
Then in the post match presser he said there wasn't much in it and Rovers won the second half. Delusional and they will win the second half because they already won the game by 41 minutes.
Was willing to give him a chance but, JB out.

Can people not see that until such time as Wael gives the nod we are stuck with JB. Can you not see that people still want to talk about it? Just like you talk about stuff you can't change yourself. Can you genuinely not see that?

No brainer. Out. I didn't want him in the first place for 2 reasons. 1, I dislike him as a person because of his past and the fact that he will never change. He's been given more chances to start again throughout his career than chances created by his team this season. He brought too much baggage with him and has added even more baggage since. 2, I don't actually think he was a good manager. Not experienced enough. We needed someone to unite the team and fans. Instead we got someone who caused more division among the fans and he turned on his players that he inherited incredibly quickly. He gave up on last season when we still had more than 10 games remaining so he sacrificed our L1 status because he couldn't be assed to (ironically) fight for the club, which for me was unforgivable and should have been sacked. His remit was to keep us up and he failed. He should also have been put on garden leave (Ryan Giggs style) pending the outcome of the newest charges that he is now facing. The guy is a fraud, he is stealing a living from the club and I honestly believe he regretted joining Rovers very quickly realising he was out of his depth so he gave up on the players hoping he would soon get sacked so he can get paid off and then point the finger at the club to make him look better for the chance to get a job elsewhere. He must have thought he was getting sacked in the summer, which didn't happen. Probably the reason why Clint Hill left because he was expecting to be out of the job with a payout but it didn't happen so he walked. JB probably knows he will get dismissed for 1 of his court cases meaning no pay out so is trying to get sacked asap. I seen people say he is rich so doesn't need the payout. But no one, rich or not, will give up a big payout. He is a very intelligent guy so I wouldn't be surprised if there is any truth to my opinion here. I said this a few times over the last month and I believe it more than ever right now. Walking away from a failing job is just about the worst thing a manager can do if they want to get employed again. Getting sacked happens to everyone and may as well be a rite of passage.

Certain people saying they want Darrell Clarke to return are really hoping for a miracle! Why would the man want to come and try sorting out this shambles of a club? Returning managers are rarely successful. Prior to Darrell's sacking results were very poor. If Darrell came back to manage the club and results were awful, his reputation would be completely tarnished. Let us remember him by the two promotions. UTG.

LJG, You are enough to drive anybody away from this forum with your constant trolling. Have you got a brain of your own? If so there is not much evidence of it. Can people not see that until such time as Wael gives the nod we are stuck with JB. As regards my constant criticism of Kilgour it is because he has been bloody awful and every game he plays he is at fault for a goal. The first today he switched off completely. It wouldnt matter to me if he was local or not- he is a constant source of goals against us and is not good enough. I wish we could provide the quality of player locally but we can't and don't. Unfortunately we are at the stage where all the good local players go to Ashton and saying that hurts but is the truth. It is not only local players who are at fault- Anderton is looking to becoming another who gives needless goals away. I still believe we have a squad of players here that can be fighting at the other end of the table- whether that is under JB or somebody else I don't know.I keep hoping for the performance that turns this season round but it looks as far away today as it looked three weeks ago. As a supporter of Bristol Rovers I hope JB can turn it around but at the end of the day until somebody can afford to take over the club then we have to pin our hopes in Wael. Your're right about LJG, he is a troll. However you make yourself an easy target Steve with some of your posts.

Look, if Barton wasnt completely and utterly inept, we'd have something else to discuss wouldn't we? I'm sure there are several who find your constant tactical assessments turgid, given they are: 1) irrelevant at the best of times 2) even more irrelevant when you have a manager who cannot manage and is the worst in the club's history It's a forum. People will post what they want to post, and read what they wish to read. I'd rather read a post slating the worst manager in our history, compared to say... I don't know... a thread calling our supports an embarrassment for example.

In. Not at all convinced, but any manager deserves at least 20 games after a complete rebuild.
Not like the constant sacking of managers has worked so why not try something different.

I think the Barton situation is clear with an increased number against him with each bad result/performance however although the buck stops with The Manager the players do not help the situation and until Wael says enough is enough then we are stuck with the Manager and I have to say that I have no confidence in either Wael or Stairms(not sure of the spelling because you never hear from him!!) to make a better appointment.I am fed up with watching defensive football played very badly and the word gel b ecause you only get a gelled team if you keep the same team (injury accepted) for a run of games. it seems to me that we have an abundance of defensive midfielders but no attacking ones and for the first time in years we have some good wingers but only playing with one up front its a very limited option. Don't get me started on defending corners because the joke is that we have conceded most of our goals from corners (two yesterday) with all eleven back. Why not try to leave two or even three up and let the defence sort out the fewer players to mark. Due to Covid I have not attended much this season and to be honest there is not much on view to entice me back at the moment and I can only see the atmosphere getting worse which will make it an even less pleasant place to be.

Really am surprised by the In vote by number. I for one voted in, even if I think he is an awful human being and won't set foot in a ground, either home or away whilst he is still managing the football club I have supported for 47 years.
Just more rope, week by week, every wriggling contorted interview by interview, game by game, that's all I seek. Schadenfreude, Joey, Schadenfreude.
Then I can return to watching my only reason for living and you will be consigned to the bin of Buckle and McGee as abject failures.

On what basis do they do deserve it? This is lower league management, and JB accepted the role with the remit to keep us up with the existing squad (which he openly rated when taking over). We were above the drop zone at the time. This idea that he's exempt from all responsibility for the games he took charge year is quite bizarre and delusional in the context of managing in the lower leagues. Allowing JB the keys to construct the rebuild was an utterly disastrous move. His off field behaviour prior should have seen him removed by that point.

If you're going to criticise Kilgour can you please at least get your facts right. He was in no way at fault for the first goal, watch it again Kilgour is at the back post, it's Anderton marking the goalscorer at the near post so not exactly sure how he is any way to blame

At least McGhee didn’t get us relegated after taking over from Buckle! Barton is on track to do a reverse Darrell and get us double relegated.

I think our problem is we’re giving inept managers the chance to build squads after having relegation form after taking over. Tisdale aside.

I’d have had no argument if he was sacked in the summer and someone else tasked with the rebuild. However that didn’t happen and so I think he now deserves an adequate amount of time to find a winning formula with players he’s signed. If we sack him we’ll probably bring in another Tisdale - a manager who didn’t sign the players doesn’t rate them and doesn’t want to play in the style they were recruited for. Don’t be fooled into thinking things couldn’t get a lot worse. Give Barton until December to show he can turn things around at which point there’s still more than enough time for a new manager to make an impact and use the January transfer window to make some changes to the squad.
