The Sun have added in that article a very long list of incidents that JB's has been involved in. It's a shocking read. Cannot believe he got our managers job and I cannot believe people like him. He faces a delayed trial accused of assaulting former Barnsley boss Daniel Stendel. Barton was boss of League One Fleetwood at the time of the alleged 2019 incident. He has been convicted of two violent crimes, spending time behind bars, and been charged with violent conduct by The FA on three occasions. In 2004 while at Manchester City, he sparked a mass brawl during a pre-season friendly. During a Christmas party that year Barton, dressed as Jimmy Saville, lost his rag when he caught youth player Jamie Tandy attempting to set his shirt on fire. In retaliation, furious Barton stubbed a lit cigar out in Tandy's eye, leaving his teammate with a burnt eyelid. City charged Barton with gross misconduct and was fined £60,000. Barton apologised for his actions and Tandy later sued his attacker, winning £65,000 in damages. Just six months later Barton was aggrieved by comments made by a 15-year-old Everton fan at a Bangkok hotel, resulting in a fracas. In 2006 he pulled his shorts down and exposed his bum to Everton fans. The FA warned Barton about his future conduct and he was fined £2,000 for bringing the game into disrepute. Barton had a violent training ground fight in 2007 with former teammate Ousmane Dabo, who suffered head injuries, including a detached retina, after the bust-up and was left needing hospital treatment. After initially pleading not guilty to assault, Barton changed his plea to guilty and received a four-month suspended jail sentence plus 200 hours of community service. He was also punished by the FA with a 12-match ban - six of which were suspended - and handed a £25,000 fine. After moving to Newcastle United, Barton was arrested in Liverpool city centre in 2007. CCTV footage captured the footballer punching a man 20 times, causing him to lose consciousness. Barton pleaded guilty to common assault and affray and was sentenced to six months behind bars. He served 74 days of his prison terms before being released in July 2008. He was in trouble once again in 2010 when he punched Blackburn winger Morten Gamst Pedersen during a 2-1 defeat for Newcastle. Barton was charged by the FA over the incident and admitted to violent conduct, earning himself a three-match ban. Battle lines were drawn when Barton declared war on the cast of TOWIE in 2011. When he got some stick back on Twitter from the likes of Mark Wright and James Argent, Barton claimed Arg had teeth "like a burnt down fence". Arg confessed Barton's joke about his teeth was part of the vicious trolling he received which led to a dark downward spiral. In one of the most dramatic matches in football history, Barton was sent off for elbowing Carlos Tevez in the throat on the final day of the season in 2012. He was suspended for 12 games and fined £75,000 after being charged with two acts of violent conduct against Aguero and Kompany. In the wake of the dismissal, Barton launched an expletive-ridden Twitter attack on Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker. "Firstly, I think it is really important to confirm that as a club we stand firmly against any form of violence. Any individual that is found guilty of any such offences will be dismissed immediately" Wael Al-Qadi, who hired him to represent our club 👏

Barton's words are painfully naive at best. At worst, his language is a complete affront to decency.

Hopefully that means he's being sacked tomorrow. Although I note that one of the comments suggest he's already been asked to leave and it didn't go well for Starnes and Widdrington. What right do Starnes and Widdrington have to request that he leaves? They are Board members and should go through the correct channels if they want him out of the club - just shows what an amateur sh*t show the club is. Not at all. Is Starnes not CEO? Widdrington an executive director? In which case they have the authority (theoretically) to fire any employee.

Then they should have discussed it with JB last night then. It's not rocket science. They are incompetent. End of story. Maybe these "several club figures" want a meeting together first to discuss the situation like Monday morning. I agree with you that it should have been done last night but I do wonder who these club figures are and what will come from this. IF and it is a big IF Wael has decided to dispense with Barton it may be the case that they are awaiting legal advice which they would likely need to wait until working hours to receive (especially if they go down a Gross Misconduct route). The editing of the clip and the refusal to comment makes me suspect that something is happening behind the scenes. It may be wishful thinking though.

Really poor choice of words to use. But the fact that he is a dreadful manager on its own should mean he's sacked, the court case, the mesiah complex and the analogies are just "gravy"

It's difficult to imagine what Barton has to.do in order to get dismissed. His public pronouncements range from the embarrassing to the offensive. His performance in the job, as evidenced by the team's results, is lamentable. Perhaps the club's hierarchy are waiting for Barton to be in legal breach of contract and hoping that HM Courts will provide that opportunity ......

So it looks like the club just hoping to just brush these latest remarks under the carpet? The leadership from this board is a disgrace. they were quick to defend Barton when the story came out in the summer about how wife. Is it just me who thinks this is tarnishing the reputation of the club? Too late. It has already tarnished it. What an absolute embarrassment. Don’t know what to say when people talk to me about Barton and his antics. Most are incredulous to his behaviour.

Not at all. Is Starnes not CEO? Widdrington an executive director? In which case they have the authority (theoretically) to fire any employee. So, even if the other Directors are against it, Starnes can just boot Barton out the door anytime he wants? If, I cannot see why it would be, it's not in the company's constitution that the manager's position must be decided by majority vote, then yes as CEO he has ultimate executive authority. Of course majority shareholders may object, an act which would undermine the CEO's authority and would normally lead to the CEO's resignation. Normally 😂
