'The club losing it's way'.Sums it up but our 'Leaders' don't seem capable of sorting any of it.Will be too late unless we are not brought back on track very soon both on and off the pitch. Meanwhile on Insta Wael's posting picture of him leaving a meal with an ex Chelsea DoF as if he's totally oblivious to what's happening at the club he owns.

So once again irrelavent, Topper. Doh! 🙈 Why's it irrelevant, he's clearly living in another world far removed from anything happening in Filton, he needed to be meeting with JB & MS/TW last week and knocking their heads together before JB went running off to the press not having a meal with an ex Chelsea DoF. Have you even bothered to read Frosty's article as he's not only talking about this weekend's latest disaster.

Can anybody understand why the club haven't made a statement? Because it’s been twisted and taking out of context. The meaning of it is destruction on a mass scale, which is obviously what he meant. It’s obvious he wasn’t talking about the other type. There is more than one meaning for a lot of words. Don’t mind if he gets sacked for his performances and if proved guilty of any court case. But this has been taken out of context. The club have removed it, as they can see it has caused offence to some. But don’t see the need in a statement, saying what we already know😂 So out of all the words he could of used he uses the worst one possible? The one which will spark debate and cause a scene? It’s like he does it on purposes. Guys a w**ker

Good isn't it. I'm really pleased that Sam Frost has exercised his right to free speech by saying how idiotic the club is making themselves look right now.

This is getting to a point now where it isn’t going away…even if reactive we have to say/do something.

Heard people say it was a disaster (people die in them), it was a war out there (people die at war ). It’s all about the context of the word and what they meant. IMO if it wasn’t Barton, nothing would have been made of it. You can twist any word like that, that could be used in a negative way.

The bbc piece is now #4 most read article on their site scroll down to most read www.bbc.co.uk/newsThis is the same BBC who yesterday, reporting Saturday's local games, showed a film clip purporting to be Rovers v Newport. The spoken comment referred to Pitman scoring. The player scoring did have a blue shirt on but it was not quartered, it was all blue. His opponents were wearing black shirts with thin yellow vertical lines. Do I have to spell it out? It was a clip from a completely different game. But of course, this story perfectly fits the BBC's crazed obsession with anything with the faintest whiff of racism about it. I used to be pro BBC but now I couldn't care less if the Tories more or less closed it down.

So many times have you heard a sports person etc use the H word, personally I've never heard anybody ever use it in this context, surely "shocker", "nightmare", "mare" is good/strong enough to use w/o using a word which is likely to offend Barton knows he's going to be picked up on anything controversial he says so clearly needs to be extra careful. After Friday's pre-match presser it's almost like he's now trying to push the boundaries to see how far he can go. Anyway what are you going to do if it's announced JB's left later this week, change track and then say Wael was entirely correct to dismiss him?

No surprise that this is gaining more coverage, the Rovers Twitterati were working overtime at the weekend, Tweeting national journalists, and David Baddiel, to bring it to their attention. One person even Tweeted the Holmesdale Fanatics - in the hope of them making a banner I presume. No thought given that, escalating it to national level, would ensure that the club name is sullied far and wide.
The Board should have stepped in with a brief statement on Saturday evening or Sunday morning, along with an apology from Barton for any offence caused, they've missed the boat on that now - the (news)hounds are off and running.

Two thoughts:
Firstly, I don’t believe JB went out of his way to use that word to cause an issue. However it was a ridiculous choice of phrase and as others have said doesn’t really make sense in the context of the sentence.
Secondly, I think people are overly concerned about the damage he may be causing to the club. As the saying goes today’s news, is tomorrow’s chip wrappers.
JB and the drama he brings will follow him not rovers. Not as if everyone says “There’s Fleetwood the club that employed Joey Barton, let’s all hate on them”.
No one cares. Whenever he leaves Rovers it’ll all be forgotten.
