Well done gas! That was a really gritty team performance the likes of which I haven't witnessed at the mem for what feels like a very long time.
I thoroughly enjoyed that!
I thought we made the cobblers look decidedly average despite having no strikers on the pitch and playing with 10 men for half an hour.
Looking forward to Tuesday night now.
UTG!

Very enjoyable 3 points today with good performances all over the pitch. The 8 minutes added time was correct in my opinion. I noted 2 minutes when Grant went down and subsequently off (62-64), 4 minutes during the Anderson free kick melee (72-76) and another 2 when Coutts (I think) went down on 85 mins. Northampton never really looked like getting back into it even with the man advantage and it was a massive relief that Taylor was there on the line at the death. Onwards to Tuesday afternoon!

Great win! Coming from one goal down and down to ten men can't be faulted.

Gutsy performance and great win, finally seeing the type of commitment we expect from a Rovers team. This though is the only first complete performance where we have been the better side for some considerable time. I’m happy tonight, but atm I am just happy we are looking safer with uncertain times ahead. UTG

That's the performance we have been waiting for! Beating an inform top 4 side who do not concede and as we have no strikers how could we possibly win? sometimes you stumble on a system by accident, forced to ask players to play unfamiliar roles up font we have suddenly gone from slow and pedestrian to quick and incisive, (reminds me of Glen Miller finding 'that' sound by accident, forced to improvise). The bloke who won the Pen should have been booked for his dive ! which came 5 mins after the tackle! At last team and fans as one, could this be the first match day thread with no negative comments re you know what! hope so!

Try not to moan about refs but my god that ref!! Great win and a very enjoyable watch utg I don't get why the ref would intentionally be so poor. This guy is a regular fourth official at our games and is going to get so much stick the next time he is.

Great result today boys and girls really starting to show a team spirit, moody pen for me but didnt seem to dent the new found confidence as a few weeks ago when you conceded first it was a nailed on defeat.

The fact is, this team is beginning to find momentum, starting to look like a team. As Joey said, this team will show its real potential around Xmas. That’s starting to look a good assessment

The players acted like they'd won a trophy when final the whistle went. Wasn't always pretty but they just seemed up for it today. Definitely a team who seem to be gelling. The test will be when we play sides that knock the ball around a bit more. When the ref overuled the linesman early on I thought crap linesman decent ref. Unfortunately the ref dropped to the linesmans level. Lost control of things. Didn't know the rule on substituting a player who had the physio come on the pitch to treat him when it wasn't a free kick in their favour.

At last a tremendous home performance Belshaw saved us going behind early on and was superb throughout. Can't believe how well Josh Grant played and Connor Taylor was immense once again Whelan unfortunate with first booking looked a perfectly fine 50/50 challenge. Crowd got right begins the team for first time under Barton. Enjoyable afternoon for me personally as my 8 year old grandson saw his first ever Rovers game. Top entertainment.

Just got back from the game. Wow, what an afternoon! I so needed that! :-) I felt we were the better team throughout the game, and thoroughly deserved to win. Josh Grant was superb, fully deserved his goal and man of the match. Dangerous on the left side of the park, full of energy and creativity. Connor Taylor was magnificent at the back as always. Fantastic goal-line clearance to seal the three points right at the death. He was unfortunate with the penalty, looked soft from the South West stand. James Belshaw with his usual excellent performance in goal. Sam Nicholson ran his socks off. Glenn Whelen had a good game, what excellent distribution he has. Superb balls out to Grant. Felt his sending off was a bit harsh, was a wild sliding tackle though. This was a superb team performance, you could really see the hunger and desire out there. Finally, it was so good to hear The Mem loud again today, the atmosphere was rocking. Like I said, I so, so needed that! UTG. agree with everything 👍🏽
