Also, Whelan sending off: What the hell is he sliding in studs up for, on a booking, as Captain? He gave the ref opportunity. It could have cost us, he was lucky everyone rallied, but soft booking or not it was a reckless decision to take when there were other options. Coutts was Captain yesterday, what the hell are you doing getting that wrong?

Exactly why he shouldnt have done it on a yellow Yes, I do see your point but it was still unfortunate for a number of reasons. Ultimately it was a very slight misjudgement rather than anything cynical or dirty. I don’t think many refs would have booked him for that. Whelan has been around the block and back again so I’m pretty sure he’s one of the more street-smart footballers, especially at this level. Hopefully we will not miss him too much when he’s out. Is the rule now 'being in control?' I'm assuming that means once you commit you're likely to get booked, even if you roll yourself into a ball and just brush the player.

Of course, my mistake...

Unless your the 🐍 on the stroke of halftime last Sunday, then apparently you can just go stubs in chest high regardless of any rules. It seems virtually every game we're ref'd by the rule book but the opposition slightly differently. Even if the refs dislike JB don't they realise that the fans and players, who are mainly affected by their harsh decisions, had no control over his appointment.

Their manager moaning about the ref setting up our first goal. I didnt go to the game but ref doesnt seem anywhere near our players on the highlights and their players were all behind the ball? Its a pretty bizarre excuse. If the ref had knocked it to our player, we'd taken quickly and scored while N'hampton were not set, I could understand, but we switched the ball they had plenty of time to adjust.
Thought we were really good value for the win, despite the soft penalty and soft double yellow.

Sounds a red - end of discussion- how the **** does anyone at any level get away from that..... Harold Schumacher?
