Anssi is a great keeper. For me he was the best keeper in League 1, and he's certainly the best in League 2. However he misses more games than he plays because he's always injured for long spells, plus flys off on 'International Duty', I say that lightly as he just sits on the bench as 3rd choice, where he probably misses 4 or 5 games through that as well.
I have been really impressed with Belshaw, and he has earned the right to be our Number 1 with consistent performances and making crucial saves.
Fair play to him.

Definite difference between the two are Belshaws mobility and confidence with ball at his feet. Noticed more in the last couple of games but his starting position is generally quite aggressive which allows him to come and gather the ball right on the edge of the area or even clear before the striker can get it under control.
The main, slightly extreme, example being where he almost reached the halfway line to tackle Taylor when he would have been through on goal, whereas with Jaakola that would have resulted in a chance for a goal. But he does often arrive at the ball before it enters our box and allows him to assess whether he needs to act or just track it back into the box to pick up.
Granted you might get some moments where the aggressive nature of this causes some issues against us, but possibly overall it cuts out more danger than it presents.

Didn't think it would be as overwhelming a lead, although Belshaw for me too.

Thought he had a good game today again. By coincidence me, my son and his mate bumped into him at the services outside Bristol after the game. Top bloke - stopped for a quick chat and happy to have a few selfies and group photo with us. Like me, he seemed frustrated with just a point but felt it wasn’t bad given the run we’ve had. Think that’s a fair assessment.

Your right especially about being quick off the mark to come out off of his line. Twice today our defence were rooted to the spot and a Tranmere player thought he was in and and would have been against most league 2 defences/ keepers but Belly was there in a flash and they didn’t even have a second on the ball to control it , shoot , anything. I think he’s a very good keeper and is clearly enjoying his time with us , the point blank save today was excellent yes it was his near post but the forward was 6 yards out had time and blasted it just inside the post. A great reaction save.

Genuinely surprised at the voting. I get that Belshaw makes some good stops and shows ‘passion’ but he’s let some soft goals / clangers in recently, I think Jaakkola’s shot stopping and claiming the ball in the air is a lot better. I would like to see Jaak given another chance, I think in a lower league with a better defence he would be a beast if he could keep himself injury free.

Kept dropping the ball, he did that like once. Yes, he gets called up every now and then. So what.

Player v player I’d pick Anssi every time. Of course the other points are valid , if he’s always injured he’s not much use but I think he’s def the better keeper.
