Senior players have been trying to guide LT in the right direction too, it's not just JB who has found him very frustrating. Maybe he was fined, maybe he was given a bit of leeway due to his mental health problems - either way, he's not able to maintain committment. A player respected in the changing room from what I've heard from sources employed by the club. Respected in what way though? Probably respected in terms of his talent but it is believable that he doesn't have the right application. Let's face facts here, you've done a full 360. Barton couldn't do anything wrong when he walked through the door, now he can't do anything right.

Can only call it as I see it. 10 wins in 41 games is an utterly pathetic record and some of his outbursts are an embarrassment.

If we are below him then get rid. Below him, as in Barton being here to do the "Bristol Rovers charity" a favour?

If we are below him then get rid. Tried in the summer before the transfer deadline apparently. Must have been bad if we wanted a U turn that quickly..

Yeah, "Only that Barnsley didn’t answer the phone to take him back is the reason he’s still here. It’s not for us wanting to keep him, it’s the fact they never picked the phone up to terminate his loan." Of course Joey. You couldn't have put the loan termination in writing and sent him packing? Bullshit! 😆

If we had wanted rid before the season started, then it would have happened. There are other ways to contact people besides a telephone call….He will most likely get farmed out to another league 2 club (I’m sure there will still be lots of takers)and score against us in all probability.

The main thing for me is we are improving and progressing despite a rocky a start with lots of injuries and hiccups (admittedly some of Joey's own doing). I never wanted the bloke because of his chequered past but I do believe we have turned a corner. It is still on a knife edge this season and could still go either way. I think that first half of football against Salford was the most impressive I've seen in a long while (other than putting the damn thing in the net!!!). If it's on the pitch you're worried about then stick with it.

It’s all about what is happening now and the form has been good, considering how many injuries we have. Plus we beat Oxford in the cup, that 120 minutes probably cost us a few league points. As a lot of our player’s are getting on, they probably felt it during the 2nd half of the last two games😂. Most of us thought Barton was close to the sack, not long ago. But he has seemed to have turned it around.

What a joker the manager is slaughtering yet another player in public. After keeping it in house for months by the sounds of it. If he’s putting on body fat and not putting in the effort, he deserves to be called out, if the softer approach hasn’t worked. It might turn out to be the kick up the backside he needs and he finally sorts himself out.

There's no doubting that as a whole, JB's tenure has been poor, but a few weeks back I was wanting him gone due to us showing no signs of improvement, plus his several embarrassing press conferences. However, he has mostly toned that down in recent weeks and we most certainly have improved massively in performances. This is exactly what I wanted to see from JB and the team, so I am satisfied to keep him on. We need as much stability as we can get, so providing he is proven innocent in his trials, continues to keep himself out of controversy and continues to get the team improving, I'd be happy for him to stay.

Its amazing how many 'apparently' stories appeared in the last 2 days since Barton commented on Thomas.
Why didn't we hear these before?
Probably because they're bullsh*t.

Dropped two points against 9 man Salford, dropped another two points at home against Tranmere after being 2-0 up, not long ago lost 3-1 at home to Newport and only 2 wins in our last 7 league games. We're flying!

Tomorrow will tell us a lot about where we are right now
Are Forest Green that special? There are signs we are able to compete at last, but we continue to struggle to kill teams off when on top.
That is partly down to a lack of a proper striker
If JB could magically turn back time I’m sure he would have focused more on getting in another forward. If we can stay there or thereabouts come January we have enough to challenge
That’s if he’s still here!!
I’m no fan of JB but for the clubs sake I hope we don’t end up having to search for another manager half way through the season.
I’d like to hope he can stick to his word and get us up
What sort of a manager would he be if he can’t get us out of league 2?
( his words)
