Imagine letting a win against Oxford make you believe things had changed Imagine getting enjoyment from the team you support losing. I’ve explained it a million times and will explain it once more for ya. I don’t get enjoyment out of Rovers losing. It is amusing though seeing all the Joey stans rush to his defence when we lose and then claim we’ve turned it around after a win and Joey will take us up only for… the immediate exact sh** form we’ve had from Joey since he’s been here.

We lost to a team away from home that was top of table. Lucky we have calm heads running the club. Some will melt down on here. I won’t. We dust ourselves down and go again. It’s what we do. Long way to go my friends. Calm heads running the club? Joey Barton?? Calm??? Head???

We were told to wait until Christmas for the team to gel Santa is now preparing his elves and the goose is getting fat And now we are told we are miles off where we need to be We have apparently scored loads of goals with no striker on the pitchWael. Wake up and realise this guy talks utter utter rubbish before he downs tools again and blames everyone else for dropping us into non league. UTG So we didn't score v Northampton, Oxford(x2), Tranmere and Salford?

So what's your solution in the absence of Nicholson, given Collins does less than Pitman and rarely scores? Pitman has the mobility of the titanic, not his fault. What it means is that every ball has to be played directly to him, very easy for the defenders to stand off him and pick up the loose balls, so the full backs can push up on our wide players and stop the space that they have when we play a fluid front 3, yes Nicholson was a miss but we still could have played 3 up front and kept the shape that has almost served us well in the last few games. My heart will go on.

Oh the arrogance - those saying imagine losing to FGR! We only lost to the League 2 leaders because our manager totally gave up the fight last season and put us in the same league as FGR. So it is not a noble defeat, and it is humiliating. Move on my friend…

Luck... luck. We deserved nothing. I understand when you can see what we are trying to do and it doesn't work but could not really see the tactics today. Loss of Nicholson resulted in no game plan that I could see. FGR play was actually quite simple. Have men run from deep to chase balls in the channels or overload one of the wings. We failed to learn from plenty of early warnings. The possession stat is a waste of time. Very little of that possession was on the front foot

And why now say we apparently had a striker on the pitch, but we don’t really need him there? His tactics are questionable at best and I can see only a man blaming everyone else he can think of for his poor results. You carry on if you think a corner has been turned. For me, he’s had far too long already. UTG

UTG Up until today's match against the top of the table team we had clearly turned the corner, recent results show that, you carry post "sack Barton" when it's pretty obvious to most there's no way Wael's going to dismiss him if he's found not guilty in his two trials.

For me, putting the whole FGR thing to one side for a moment (I have a number of personal reasons to dislike that club) I see it this way.
We’ve by and large been playing well of late. Whereas before a win against a weaker side was the exception to the rule we are now in the position where a poor performance and a defeat are the exceptions to the rule.
We are slowly turning the corner. Soon the draws will become wins and the losses will become draws.
Obviously, it would be nice to win fixtures like today but we are where we are and have probably mostly been getting carried away as a collective.
We are probably, realistically, at best a mid table side punching towards the playoffs once we settle our unstable form.
Expecting us to deliver a strong December and some decent signings in Jan. (expectation as in desire rather than prediction)

Including the FA Cup win it was 3 wins in 6 games and 3 draws in the other 1st team games, PPG wise that would be 2 PPG which is far better than anything else we've had recently.

yes and those results were achieved without playing rms pitman, why change things today, again I despair of our managers tactical sense, or should I say lack of it.

We really have a big problem for December - yes due to JB's lopsided squad assembly. I'm less worried about the lack of striker, go back to what was working and have Pitman as a sub as others have said. But defensively we are so short. Think we have to go to 4 at the back Belly Hoole Taylor Harries Anderton/Clarke Whelan Coutts Nicholson Finley Jones Evans Pitman, Thomas, Spence and Hulbert (why not) to provide impact from the bench I don’t agree with playing Whelan and Coutts together. Whelan or Coutts but both of them with Pitman up front it’s just a lack of pace that takes any creativity out of the side.

FG were the better team today but they have been against most sides they've played this season. That's why they're top of the league.
We've clearly still got a long way to go to be at that level but that doesn't mean we haven't made progress. Neither does it mean the play offs are out of the question.
