Think the reality is we’re a midtable side this season and miles off showing the consistency needed to be a top 7 team.
For me we’re a good RB/RWB, CB, LB and ST away from being close to the standard of the likes of FGR, Swindon, Vale etc. (maybe T. Clarke could be that LB if he could A) stay fit & B) not punch people when fit).
Harries is a weak link for me and no idea why we didn’t sign a RB in the summer.

Another low point for the club, the day we couldn't compete with Forest Green.

We seemed to have turned a corner but it felt as though we had only peeped around it. Barton said he could take absolutely nothing from the FGR game which meant that we had stalled badly. Teams that turn corners tend to carry on that progress. We carry too many Players who are prone to injury which gives us constant setbacks.

Let's hope pitman doesnt have a clause in his contract if fit he plays. A goalscorer but we can not have him in this team at present.

If you play with wide men like Collins and Thomas with pitman in the middle he will score goals as balls will come into the box. You don’t have pitman up front by his self chasing balls lofted over the top. Bad managerial tactics not a bad player. He’s also our top scorer.

How do you fit thomas collins Evans Nicholson and pitman into a 11.we should be a front foot team with that talent at our disposal

I was about to say something similar. 'Move on'? It's a soundbite, meaningless in the context of our position in L2 with promotion looking an unlikely prospect. The thing is, Rich always does this stuff. Supports the current manager with blind faith and eternal optimism, using the power of positive thought to turn things around. When it goes belly up, he condemns the previous incumbents as losers, and 'moves on'. No doubt when Joey leaves, he too will become a loser, and Rich will transfer his loyalties to whoever is then in charge. It's so repetitive and pointless.

Nicholson seems to get injured a lot. Anybody know what is wrong with him and what was his injury record like pre Rovers?

Rich was convinced Nichols would come good one day Just give it another game I admire his positivity but sometimes you need to be hard and cold when it comes to making ruthless decisions in football Not many fans of Villa will complain if Gerard is a success, even if some (most?) thought the sacking of Smith was a bit harsh. I judge my rationale on results Barton has been a failure Nothing has swayed me from my belief that he is not the man for our club. Nothing to do with his past, just his results

I have never supported a Nichols. He was disappointing. I agree you need to be harsh in football. I’m not ready to throw towel in yet with Joey. I have more confidence in him than any of the previous two managers. Yes I’m positive. I find it makes me have a much happier life. I surround myself with happy and positive people. It helps me. Enjoy your evening.

We have improved but from a low initial position. The progress has stalled. The analysis by other forum members suggest the play offs is the only thing achievable.
This may be Barton's last game in charge if things go badly next week. I'm frankly indifferent to his fate.

Fair enough Rich
Like I said, I admire your positive outlook
Only to me, if something is continually disappointing it makes me think I’ll be happier if that situation was resolved so it was less so
Simply having blind faith in it eventually coming good is a dangerous game, especially in football
Anyway no hard feelings. Have a pleasant evening yourself.

Let’s see how things progress. We will agree on more than you think. All the best.

Not sure what say about that performance. Just got got back from a 200 mile round trip. Chinese takeaway and a drink has helped, but in summary we were sh&t, and our fans were quiet too unusually. All in all just really disappointing.

All this doom and gloom is so depressing. Only a month ago I personally doubted our ability to avoid relegation into Level 5 again…at least now we look capable of mid table position and for that we should all be truly grateful. IMHO

Collins has played out wide many of times this season and balls into the box are not always a cross and i was basing it on players that's currently fit. The point i was making you put balls in the box and give him chances he scores.
