My basic wish list is as follows: The stadium to be completely enclosed. I do not want to be able to see views of central Bristol from between the stands. The interior and exterior of the stadium to be blue (and white). Design to be expandable (even if we start with a small capacity). All seater (I know there is a lot of support for safe standing but it's not for me). Fully enclosed concourse. All facilities within the stadium. I would also like us to embrace the pirate theme within the design. As long as there are sufficient seats for you to sit where you want why would you be opposed to some provision for safe standing? Why would you prevent those supporters that wish to stand the opportunity to do so or do you just think that your preference should override other people's? I am only one voice and not a particularly significant or influential voice at that...
This is a forum and that's my personal preference. Nothing more than that.
I have not seen a new stadium built in the UK with any standing provision (correct me if I am wrong), every new stadium has been all seater.
I don't want to start a seating / standing debate. As you said, I would choose to sit. Others prefer to stand. No problem.

On a more modest level, I quite like the look of Southend's proposed new 22,000 seater stadium, which, like ours, may never actually be built. But it has the look of four separate stands with seating and video screens in the corners. That with the ability to expand would be a really good starting point.

Your wrong :-) Spurs stadium has provision for safe standing amongst others. Testing due to be carried out. www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2021/november/tottenham-hotspur-stadium-receives-license-for-safe-standing/?gamp=trueI have actually stood in the South Stand at Spurs (as no one sits down) it works well!

The main thing is for all the stands to be different from each other. No generic ,smooth bowl .
Rovers have ALWAYS had a connecting blueprint.
The ideal tradition and atmosphere stadium for Rovers...
1) A low covered terrace running the length of the pitch on one side. Think original north terrace at eastville and popular side twerton.
2) The opposite side a small terrace with seating behind , boxes ,press and the tv gantry. The changing rooms in this stand. Think south stand at eastville ,west stand at the mem ,main stand at twerton.
3) An open standing away end. Bristol end of Twerton, Muller rd end of Eastville , southeast terrace at the Mem.
4) A covered standing home kop. Tote end at Eastville , Thatchers terrace at the Mem.
Thats the blueprint, how to moderise that whilst keeping the pattern ?
Adapt the above 4 by... Area 1) make safe standing. 5000 capacity.
Area 2) make all seater but with different tiers (3 makes sense). 8000 capacity.
Area 3) The biggest change , give them a roof they have suffered long enough ! Build a 2 tier stand. The lower tier safe standing the upper seating. 3000 capacity (2000 standing 1000 seated.)
Area 4) A covered safe standing home kop. 4000 capacity.
Stadium total 20,000.
4 seperate stands. With the corners used for players tunnel, scoreboards, part of a hotel perhaps
Doesnt fit the modern stadium idea , but lets face it ,all seater stadiums are made to look nice when empty....thats one for the designers not the fan.
It wont happen though as its not about how fans want to expeience the game its about what looks pleasing on the tv...

Is there any indication when the site plans would be revealed?
I would have thought that having agreed to purchase the land they must have some sort of design in place already.

Fair enough. Sounds like it would be worth pursuing then!
Does the capacity change when in standing mode? Or is it less compact than a standard terrace?

Should we really be correcting grammar with new people on the forum? Not particularly welcoming, especially as it’s a common mistake made by a lot of people. Yatton, 90% of your posts are mainly trying to upset or pick fights with people with a cheeky wink. You might get a rush from it and think it’s edgy and charming and terribly complicated, but lots of people don’t.

Yeah I prefer four stands to a bowl The only downside is if we did build a bowl, we could call it the fruitbowl

Even copster liked the post as it was clearly, to me at least, a little joke on the irony of misspelling "You're wrong". Didn't appear to be any malice in it from what I could see.

My understanding is it's the same. The place you stand still has a seat, so that's your reference point for your ticket. You can then sit down and have a rest before the game, at half time or during if not impressed.

Sorry it’s lost on you , who by the way is obviously trying to start an argument. 🙄

I'd like a very high TV gantry that offers a spectacular view of the City centre and the suspension bridge that cuts off any view of AG just to water that lot off.

Nice idea...would need to be ontop of a very high tower as brandon hill and cliftonwood stand in the line of sight ! What the FM site does create is making ashton gate a more isolated stadium in a low population fringe of the city.

Who is the bloke on the bottom right, the only face showing, anyone know. I think he's the same fella from Banksy's "Mobile Lovers" artwork from a few years back. UTG!
