It's a squad game and having a big, strong player, who can hold the ball up, plus really unsettle a defence would be my preference. Don't get me wrong I think what makes us dangerous as a team is that we have players that can run with the ball and have excellent movement up front, but I think there are times, especially when trying to defend a lead, that a player that can help defend set pieces and hold the ball upfront and get the team up the pitch, is needed. The Rochdale lad looked fairly decent on Saturday. That was I was gonna say I wouldn’t mind Rochdale forward Jake Beesley. How much is likely to cost, £250K/£500K? What we need is a young Beesley but not another Ayunga/Blissitt.

He didn't get a sniff until Taylor went off.

Do you think we need a new center forward in January seeing that our performances seem to be better without a "big targetman"? Yes. Next question...

Any recommendations pirate? Would certainly offer Georgie Kelly a contract when his current deal expires at the end of December, but would face strong competition for his signature so might be difficult. Have just read that Millwall, Sunderland, PNE and Wigan are all interested in signing him.

Not surprised. Good player. Any thoughts on which team will get his signature? Preston have a history of signing players from Ireland in recent years, but he will be tempted by Sunderland. Amazing stadium and a top class training ground. With the new owners if they get it right they could get back to the Prem again in the next few years,

He’s not a target man striker but would like Elliot list from Stevenage 8 goals in a poor Stevenage team and he’s also very quick could see a front 3 of Evans,Collins and list working very well.

Not sure how likely, but go and offer a deal for Jonny Kenny at Sligo Rovers in Ireland. Might cost a few quid as he's under contract, but an outstanding prospect. Failing that, approach the lad Colm Whelan at UCD with an offer where he could finish his City Planning and Environmental Policy degree over here, whilst still playing for us at the same time. Think if we were to stand any chance of signing Whelan then that type of arrangement would have to be agreed. Get in ahead of the pack when there could be a clamour to sign him next summer. Alternatively, Mark Doyle at Drogheda is out of contract this month and is a versatile forward that could do a good job for us in a fluid front 3.

I've said before we should look to use him to perhaps have a little word or something. 90+ caps for the national team and hugely respected.

Surely we should soon see the return of Saunders and I am sure I read Clarke should be back in February.
How many players do we have in the squad that are not currently playing?
God knows how much money we are paying for players not to play. The debts are mounting and we cannot expect Wael to bail us out year after year, sooner or later we will have to revert to type and return to no buy, no sale or ragbag Rovers. It is not nostalgia, just a realist view.
If we earn £4 million, don't spend £7 million. I just can't see Wael being around in 5 years if we carry on like this and the new ground doesn't happen. And then even share scheme 2 won't be able to save us.
We have to develop cheaper younger players like we always have and that is not happening. JB is only playing Hoole as a necessity and when he gets new players in the next window, will he treat Luca, like he has with Walker and Martinez?

Regarding your last paragraph, it is designed not to happen for lower league clubs like us. It is called the EPPP (Elite Player Performance Plan). It's something brought about to supposedly help the England team, but what it actually is is a way for the Premier League clubs to hoard talent without having to pay the going rate.

Barton must off load a few Hargreaves, Rodman Jaakoola Tomlinson even Hughes and Kilgour who struggled this season.
Maybe take a punt on James Norwood from Ipswich Town an aggressive old fashioned striker.
