Hi all , apologies in advance for the following boring thread creation and feel free to delete when necessary. I’m taking my seven year old nephew to his first ever game on Saturday and chose to be seated in the poplar insulation stand C. Any one on here know what it’s like up there atmosphere wise ? I’m assuming the view is going to be very good as well ? In all my years going down the mem I’ve never ventured into that stand as I’ve always been in the Blackthornend, didn’t think he’d do too well standing up for so long and it may be a bit too much for him there. Any reviews ? Cheers in advance UTG

Wear a smart watch and see it turn red measuring your heart rate, the stairs are steep. On the way down, if loaded with beer, can be lethal. Best view in the house though, not just of the pitch. atmosphere is hit and miss but then it has been poor at the Mem generally for a while now. Enjoy.

Best view in the stadium - in general I would say the atmosphere is as good as in any seated area.

I'm heading to what I still call the Dribuild for the very first time this weekend with my non-Gashead Stepdad, as he said he'd rather sit, and I don't fancy introducing him to the Mem in a tent!

As others have said best view in house , its not the Blackthorn for Atmosphere but good enough and ideal for the young one, he can graduate to the Blackthorn when he is older! hope Rovers put on a show for him, first impressions and all that.

It’s the stand where I sit and use the forum every other Saturday instead of watching the game. Great view and lively atmosphere. Enjoy.

Block c is my preferred place to watch from. Atmosphere is good, and it’s one of the best views in the whole EFL imo. Hope you enjoy the game!
UTG!

Thanks for everyone’s info it’s really appreciated, my nephew unfortunately comes from a C**y family and I want his first game to be with us so I can convert him from an early age , I bought him his first rovers shirt which arrived today so hopefully he’ll enjoy his birthday presents and become a life long gashead , ( feel free to report me to child line to inflicting this on him ) but anything’s better than watching them up the road !!

Yes mate , I’m all at sea if it’s not the Blackthornend. I'm up there as well! Season Ticket, right at the front, row B. It's a great view, it doesn't have the atmosphere of the Thatchers but you pick up and enjoy looking at the lads enjoying themselves over there.

I have been sat in this stand [known by several names - now East Stand] for many many many years and have been located via my season ticket in Blocks B and C and back again.
Great view, atmosphere hit n miss
I took my daughter to her first game sat in this stand when she was just 5 years old, she is now approaching 30,and has just made us proud grandparents - counting the days until we introduce our grandson to the world of being a Gas Head.
Fingers crossed his first game will be in the new stadium ...... we can dream.

Christ alive how many of us are in the East Stand and not aware we've been sat close to some idiot we can't stand on the forum?

I've been lucky enough to have watched a couple of games from the """Boxes""" at the very top at the back. If you dont like heights (Like me) its terrifying.
But a fantastic view of the pitch. Just be careful coming down the stairs on the Blackthorn side of the stand with the little one. I'll stick with the Blackthorn, I can watch the game without without hanging on like dear life to the rail!!!!!!!!!!

Got lucky with my ST and I'm in Row A in the East Stand. As others have said the atmosphere can't rival the Blackthorn, but I have a great view of the pitch.
