Got lucky with my ST and I'm in Row A in the East Stand. As others have said the atmosphere can't rival the Blackthorn, but I have a great view of the pitch. Lucky? If it rains then people in the first 5 or 6 rows get wet as it blows under the canopy. It is also a lot warmer if you have the seats around you occupied and gets very chilly if they go home early " to avoid the traffic" . You also need to hope that the guy 3 along from you hasnt been on the lash and needs to go to the loo 6 times before half time and makes you get up and down like a yo yo i think that a lot depends upon the people who sit near you - some are a great laugh -but there are some who sit looking at other scores on their phones the entire game and telling all their mates- about how Liverpool or Man U are doing and whether Ronaldo has scored again. The fact that none of their mates are interested doesn't seem to matter. Having said all that it is the best view in the stadium which makes it all worthwhile Yeah I've been soaked a few times!

Only been in there for hospitality so sat right at the back. But it's an interesting different perspective and you see a lot more off the ball action from up there I find (compared to the blackthorn end).
Finding your spot on the terrace and looking for all the people you don't the know names of but chat to every week is oddly entertaining. Like trying to spot landmarks from a plane or when you recognise a place on TV.
And its nice to hear the noise generated from behind the goal (on a good day of course).

Always wondered why it's such a horrible colour. Sort of swampy faded bluish.

Well I must say a HUGE thanks to all the guys and gals in block C row J as they made my nephews day , pretty much everyone there wished him a happy birthday ( he was wearing a huge birthday boy badge ) and asked how his first game was , not the best game , until the last 5 mins but everyone around him literally made him feel so welcome , he’s now asking when he can come again. He’s now a gashead for life and hooked !!!!!! What a great fan base we have.

Glad he enjoyed his day, you never forget your first ever game. It was a very exciting end to a very drab match. UTG.

This is going back to Eastville Days. I stood at The Tote end for a couple of years, and then paid extra for the enclosure for nearly twenty. I took my son aged 5 to reserve games, and we sat in the North Stand. After a while he complained bitterly about only seeing reserve games, so we both had Season Tickets for the North Stand. At first I hated sitting above the action, until I figured out why. It's that you have a better view than the ref, the managers and the players. Why didn't that idiot winger swing the ball to his un-marked mate on the opposite wing? Because he couldn't see him with a couple of taller players in between (true, he should know he will be there). Surely the ref must have seen that deliberate foul? No - the crafty fouler made sure the ref was unsighted before committing. It's something you have to get used to, and, as my son is now 52, I have. I'm happy with the view from the East Stand, though we're in wet-knee row D, but I reckon the best view now is from the seating in front of the boxes opposite, and I can't afford that!

When I sit in the stand, I like to bring an x box controller as it seems like I’m controlling the game, like FIFA. Given you said your son is 52 you might not be aware of what a fifa on an Xbox is….it’s like electronic subuteo.

Get him to wear the birthday badge every game! might even try it myself! great to hear though, but is your conscience clear ,i mean consigning him to years of disappointment? !!!!

It really makes a great day, you'll get seats at the back of the East Stand, bar opens at 12, foods good, atmosphere good, can't praise it enough.
