When the goal went in what happened at the walsall bench?looked as a fan appeared to have a confrontation with the manager Not sure, wasn't there some row kicking off on the pitch at the final whistle? There was with their keeper and one of our players (couldn’t see who). No idea what it was about. Looked like they both wanted to carry it on until our player was dragged away and persuaded to go over and celebrate with the fans instead. Also saw stewards chasing after 2 kids who had run on from the family enclosure to celebrate with the players - hope they didn’t get into too much trouble, they only looked about 10.

Could have been another one because their number 10 had a pop at Anthony Evans I think. What a nasty bunch of players. Hoole gets sent off for questioning the ref and a soft second yellow. Walsall waste time for the WHOLE match. Dive at every opportunity. Their 2 tries to pick a fight with Joey. Nine was a nasty piece of work pulling other players down, fouling and mouthing off at everyone. So by Hooles standards should have been sent packing before he did. Extremely inconsistent from the ref who disciplined everything he could from us and more but acted very lenient to them. We seem to have a rep for being a nasty bunch but we take more than we give out. Somehow I think we’ve become the club to watch because of this rep and get over disciplined.

Fantastic performance from the gas. Great spirit to win after being a man down for so long.
The table is starting to look very positive.
Bought along an old mate who’s not from round here and not much of a football fan. He was in for a treat!

I don’t believe in a refereeing conspiracy but do wonder if there’s an unconscious bias when it comes to refereeing a ‘Joey Barton’ team and that there’s an expectation in their minds that we’re a dirty side that will need ‘clamping down on’. It then becomes a viscous circle because the number of reds and yellows seems to confirm this in referees’ minds. The stats seem to bare this out - often most fouled but end up with most cards.

The worst team lost today. We weren't at our best but Walsall were worthy losers. Contrary to others I reckon the ref was OK today. Good to see players bouncing off Taylor because he's stronger and the ref telling them to get up. I rate Hoole so hopefully he will learn from his silliness today. At the top end, Thomas put in a great shift and was my motm. We had some neat moves that just didn't quite come off. I hope sammie nicks isn't drifting into a subpar season. he's a very good player but he doesn't seem to affect games enough at the moment. Great to have Saunders back as another option. Collins can make things happen which is a valuable skill. Nothing wrong with a last minute winner to send us all home happy. I think Sammy Nicholson is better on the right. Cutting inside is his game but he’s been played on the left the last few games. It’s worked overall because we’ve picked up decent points so nobody’s knocking it. I think he’s a good player and been with us a while now but given a run as a right sided inside forward could be another Billy Bodin for us. Thomas has played that role lately and he’s been good so fair enough. I really do hope he ends up being like bodin was for us. I get that sometimes players like that can be peripheral then suddenly do something magic. I just worry he's becoming a passenger in the front line. I'm struggling to think of a game this season where he was our stand out ut forward player. Whereas you can quite easily make a case for Evans, Collins, Thomas, even pitman and Clarke for affecting a game for us. Again, I'm a big fan of Nicholson. I just want him to fulfill his promise for u and be more involved. He did more defensively than attacking yesterday!

Just caught up with the highlights, and what captured my attention was the Thatchers End as the goal went in, well into added time and packed to the rafters, imo the crowd are appreciating what they are watching and always believing we can score. Plus, I must add a large proportion of The Thatchers End were cheering/singing towards Joey at full time, whereas before Christmas it was just a small group.
Lovely to see.

Not surprised, a great many long forgotten faces back in the crowd today. I'm amazed, apparently, if you support Rovers these days you're not a decent person. I personally have been labelled as "shameful, with double standards" on the other place - anybody know if Tesco sells sackcloth and ashes? And we know who’s doing that don’t we Tilly! Ignore them Tilly, I do. I try to keep to the football theme. But now and again I do bite as they want you to. It’s great to see you supporting the club as we've always done. UTG!

Things I noticed today was how Luke Thomas was sharp both in play and quick thinking, oozed quality, and loved joey s enthusiasm on the side, he is the most passionate manager since ollie. Credit to Wael for sticking with him through the problems. Get Rich s bus serviced at My Garage we are off to the play offs. DC I don’t even know why I put this ☝️, I was pretty battered last night but what’s even funnier is two people have liked it 😄

Putting the hard working performance, the battling spirit, the crowd behind the lads right till the end, to one side, I think you need to give credit to the chap who started the matchday thread.

I just wish these people would think before making such judgemental statements about a forum member. At the moment I'm feeling like sh*t, it's almost 10 years to the day that I tried to take my own life - not a date that I want to remember, but it was a couple of days before my brother's birthday, so it's sort of etched in my memory. That brother passed away a couple of years ago with a brain tumour, we were told that he had a couple of months left, but was gone within 3 weeks. Mentally, I wasn't well enough to attend his funeral, which also took place in the month of January - that is something which I do feel shameful about. Of course, I don't expect people to know these things about me, but at least think twice before labelling anybody as "shameful", having "double standards" and "sacrificing your decency". Sometimes it's a very small straw that finally breaks the camel's back, and I hope that this person receives a temporary ban from the other place.

I've just seen his respone on there "I do have a right to stand in judgement on people who, via attending, show support for Barton, and you'll notice, I've done so. Of course people don't like it, but nobody is able to defend it in a meaningful way."

Try ta ignore Tilly, people with resentment are normally very miserable themselves. They are wrong ta judge or attack you, good feelings coming at you from here. I think you’re a wonderful person an enjoy readin your posts.
