Forest 2 Teds 0. Oh dear. Bristol City carried little threat all game as they slipped to their sixth defeat in their past 10 matches. Nigel Pearson's side could only muster one shot on target as their poor away form continued - now no win in 11 and 33 goals conceded. nothing i like more than hearing of a Teds defeat and poor performance but we must remember who they are competing against, clubs, some of whom have huge pedigrees, like Forest, there followers like to think they are on the same level, fact is they are not , delusions of grandeur as per usual.

I wouldn't fancy Rover's chances against Exeter in the playoffs!

I wouldn't fancy Rover's chances against Exeter in the playoffs! I doubt you'd fancy our chances even if we played Scunthorpe?

If I'm honest if one team was going to win that game come the end it was going to be Exeter. Joey knew that too I think hence his substitution of Whelan on for Nicholson in injury time to solidify the midfield.

That’s how it looked to me (not at the ground) No surprise we faded after the past 2 weeks with Exeter fresh as daises. What do we do Tuesday? Maybe rest a couple and try and bring the likes of Nolan, Saunders and Thomas in to impact things.

Saunders is OK but nothing special and Thomas is very talented but too inconsistent with it IMO. Then Nolan hasn't played in a while, why didn't he come on yesterday if he is close to starting? But I get your point it needs freshening up a little bit. It might be the time to do it as Barrow at home is a much easier fixture than Newport away, on paper at least anyway. I would be happy with 4 points from those 2 games.

I think Finley coming off at half time upset or rhythm a lot in the second half.

I think Finley coming off at half time upset or rhythm a lot in the second half. I agree, we lost that bite in the middle and didn't seem to get forward as often. I found it a strange sub at the time but understood Finley wasn't 100% after the game. Whelan would have been the obvious sub but I suspect Joey doesn't fancy Whelan and Coutts on the pitch at the same time. Hopefully Grant is availiable soon as he gives us a lot of flexibility.

Not an Ideal pairing but surely those two holding midfield with EA, Nicko, Evans and Collins in front of them would have been a better option than Loft achieving zero upfront on his own? Then Clarke could have come in for Collins later if we were looking for a goal.
Although we wouldn't be saying that if the ref had awarded the pen when Anderson was clearly pulled back in the box, I just can't understand how that wasn't given even if Anderson did a Collins when he went down.

I enjoyed the game played by two very good sides, I thought we cancelled each other out as both went for the win knowing a draw would be ok too. Great to see a full Mem again and so many children enjoying their day.
The whole place looks and feels so positive, so many smiles on peoples faces and that buzz of anticipation is back.

Draw probably a fair result in the end but I'd like to see the clearance off the line and penalty shout again. Their centre also got away with absolute murder, I lost count of the times he held on to Collins or Loft with absolutely no intention of playing the ball. Having said that Exeter have missed a sitter to win it in injury time. Point not a disaster by any means, Exeter are a good side and I'd be surprised if they don't go up automatically. A win Tues and this becomes a very decent point I think Loft came on because of their number 6. Collins got bullied by him all game so Loft came on to try and free up Collins. Didn't quite come off. Whilst it's frustrating to watch as an opposing fan, I think he was a good League Two centre back and wouldn't mind him bullying strikers for us.

I'd agree with that, he definitely got away with quite a bit off the ball. Exeter fans would argue its good defending which in fairness it probably was but from our point of view it was hugely frustrating

Interestingly, their number 6 was Sam Stubbs, the son of Alan Stubbs and signed for Fleetwood under Barton in 2020 before joining Exeter mid way through that season (after Barton had left).

I thought we looked better in the first half, the second was a bit of a none event, chances wise. I assumed Nolan was an ACM so odd JB choose to try and play Collins in that role rather than a natural midfielder. Tuesday's line up could be an interesting one as I assume JB will need to rest players/change things around.

Good point.
Not sure why people are under the impression I want Rovers to fail as none of my posts have indicated that at all. But you do you. It's very clear where my problem is but people like GGMI are too stubborn to actually read a post properly and think they're funny by constantly trying to wind people up by going way off track. Boring.
