Great win last night the tables opened right up and I’ve gone from Thinking maybe play offs to maybe autos in the space of 3 weeks. Anyone know what the words are to the new chant weve been singing a lot? It’s to the tune of don’t take me come I want to stay here and drink all the beer song.

Barrow time wasted but they all do it. Last night the referee seemed particularly bad in allowing it to happen. I watched Stoke do it from the start of the match on Saturday. Bonham, their keeper, was taking about a minute for every goal kick with changing sides, replacing the ball and every throw in changed hands before being taken. On free kicks the ball would be placed, replaced before being taken. For much of the match Stoke were ahead but surprisingly once they went behind they started running like Olympic sprinters to take any dead ball situation. Funny that. Stoke City got exactly the same reaction from the AFCB fans once the tables had turned on Saturday that Barrow got last night from us when they started running about and hurrying after the goal.
The really sad thing is referees could solve the problem by booking players early in the first half not waiting until the last 10 minutes like so many do. By that time the time has already been wasted. Do it as soon as it starts and after a few weeks of it the problem would disappear. I suspect that the FA have decided it’s not important and have instructed referees not to react to it. It does create a really frustrating vibe amongst the fans. It’s become one of the biggest complaints from us fans I think.
UTG!

Special mention for that Belshaw air shot first half, that somehow came off his standing leg & dropped inside to Connor Taylor. Just evading the Barrow forward. Heart in mouth moment and seemed like the entire ground let out a collective nervous chuckle once we’d mopped it up😂

Totally agree about the time wasting all teams do it but Barrow really took it to a new level. The thing that really frustrates me is that the referee adds the time on which then (as on Tues night) ends up benefiting the team that wasted the time in the first place. They defended very well but can't help feeling they ultimately got what they deserved

Looks like an arm round the throat as Clarke is about to try and control the ball as it drops. Clearly impeded and there were no covering defenders in range. I am surprised the red card was overturned. Not that it matters now anyway. Although I wonder how the game would have gone if it had remained 11v11. Barrow closed the game off immediately once they went down to 10 men. It would have been a bit more open otherwise - we might well have found a way through even sooner..

Can we appeal against the blatent time wasting?

I cant understand how they have won the appeal. I can only assume there are other camera angles they had access to?

Can we find the camera angles on the keeper during this? When player is going off, next minute he's sat on ground needing attention!

It seemed as clear as a day Clarke was pulled back (or he's a great actor/diver!) and there was also no covering defender, surely the appeal wasn't based on the fact Clarke wouldn't have got to the ball before the goalie, if he hadn't been fouled? It's odd other teams win dodgy looking appeals but ours always seemed to get rejected.

Assumed it was time wasting to put some extra pressure on the penalty taker. It seems goalies claiming that they are injured is the latest time wasting trick, as they don't leave the field once they've been treated like an outfield player, not only was it a good bit of time wasting it also allowed 10 men Barrow to reorganise their defence etc before the free kick was taken. Perhaps the rules need changing so injury time is doubled for a player requiring treatment, what's the betting if it was we'd hardly see physios on the pitch!
