Not sure how out of date the football ground guide is. Northampton 116x72 yards. The Mem 110x73. I get the point though. A longer thinner pitch is more suited to the long ball teams. ...... sorry, can't avoid the innuendo any longer. Mem is a decent length but has girth Iβm talking nonsense then. I just thought it looked like a small pitch. One yard extra is f all 'If' the info is correct. Easier for a ball to travel up the pitch unaccompanied than a player with the ball. Don't think all clubs pitch sizes vary that much these days. Wonder if there is a slope limit π. After a couple of managers mentioning it I've tried to see it. From the east terrace you can see a slight dip in the south west corner although that could be the tent being on a slope, rather than the pitch
