If you like real ale you'll like the Bulls Head on St John Square, opposite the church and just down from the war memorial. Always friendly to away fans (apart from Stoke, obviously.) Barbecue out the back too. There's a local brewery called Titanic (the Captain was from SOT) who sell there. www.titanicbrewery.co.uk/product-category/our-beers/Sorry lads, was talking bollocks. Due to the 5 figure crowd expected, the Bulls Head has asked on social media that it be home fans only tomorrow to manage overcrowding. Stone is a nice little canal town about 15 mins from Vale, just off the M6 and A road; Load of nice pubs available to away fans there. That's a shame. Went to the Bull last time we played you (1-1) and it was lovely in there Keep us updated on the pub situation. Hopefully be outside in a garden if I'm not too burnt from this weekend!

Christ we’ve got a great chance of our 7th promotion and we have one of our biggest matches for some time yet we’ve got some coming in with snide comments about the Mem. We all know it’s not the best and we have to do something about it but not sure what we, the fans can do. Have to trust in Wael which looking at what he’s done over the past 12 months or so I think I do. Can we not just enjoy the moment? UTG! Pathetic aren't they? You have to ask if they're even Gasheads or from that other place and just here for the wind up. Hugo used to sniff 'em out like a bloodhound. Hugo?.........

We probably hold the record for least stadium improvements over the last 30 years! Embarrassing. The best way to improve the stadium, any stadium, is to fill it to capacity. We did that yesterday and will do for the last home games too. People make a stadium. Just look at the scenes when that goal went in yesterday or when the final whistle went. The most important part a stadium is it's soul. Yeah I love the Mem when it’s rocking like it has been since Christmas and I dislike it when we’re struggling with crap players that aren’t giving it 100% because it can feel flat. But I’m sure the same would be said if we did ever have a new stadium. I’ll miss our ground if we leave to a new ground because it’s mostly terracing and feels like a proper old fashioned atmosphere which is much better than the newer bowl atmosphere you get at new grounds I do realise though obviously that we need a new ground to progress beyond the bottom two divisions.

Funnily enough I didn't think Evans actually had that good a game when he came on Friday. Apart from his shot that hit the crossbar, he gave the ball away too often. He’s bound to be a bit rusty but his quality has been missed. We have to give the opposition more to think about than just how to stop Billy.

There’s plenty on here who are frustrated by the absolute lack of action on our embarrassing stadium and how the current owner has first of all trashed the UWE project, gone back on his promise to redevelop the Mem, and not talked about the so say Fruit Market plan since he blurted out some nonsense at Blackpool three years ago. He doesn’t even talk about it anymore as there’s nothing to say. It’s the elephant in the room, and whist other clubs like Vale, and like all of our erstwhile rivals like Reading, Swansea, Brentford, Cardiff, 82 etc have managed to redevelop or develop modern fit for purpose stadiums our owner hasn’t and what’s worse doesn’t even seem to be trying to do so unlike Higgs with his UWE plan, and unlike Dunford with the Mem revamp and various other schemes that failed for one reason or another. Yes, let’s enjoy the moment as we have a good team to watch and have a chance to get back to the third tier, where we have played most of our existence and is the limit of our current potential until the ground is sorted. The Mem has plenty of potential to be a decent enough stadium just like Vale Park. There’s no hotel or conference facilities or student flats attached to that ground or most grounds for that matter that are all vastly superior to ours. If someone expresses frustration or anger about our owner not doing any of the things he said he would with regards to a stadium how does that make them a shithead? All Sh1!heads I know are quite happy with his failure on this and laugh at him and us. On the other hand plenty of gasheads feel exactly as Chippenham does but there’s little point in expressing frustration on here because of nonsense replies like yours accusing them of being Sh1!heads!

I think Evans will start probably in place of Nicholson with Anderson(s) right & left. Yes we need to win but first & foremost we have to give ourselves a chance. Imo it's no good going gung ho from ko and being out of the game inside the first 20 mins. We'll have options from the bench to go all out later in the game if we need to.

If LT replaces SN who would you drop for Evans? Finley based on the fact coutts is better at controlling the game, and maybe swop them at half time or at 60 minutes. We need to win this match, I would rather go positive and lose and have a right old go. Im not arrogant but Exeter are the only side I would fear in the play offs, and they will go up automatically. Not a chance in hell Finley’s being dropped for any of our last four games (if fit, of course). Would be madness for tomorrow’s game in particular. Think Thomas or Evans will come in for Nicholson but can’t see too many changes other than that.

I think every Rovers fan agrees the perceived lack of action towards getting us a new stadium is incredibly frustrating. I fully understand some fans wanting to vent their anger , we’ve waited longer than any other fan base in the country probably.
Some fans have waited over 40 years and see their chances of watching us play in a decent stadium slipping away.

Fantastic post. Absolutely completely sums it up. We are being left behind. We are now playing in a stadium with a lower capacity than twerton, if you think this is acceptable there is something wrong with you.

A quick Google search will show that the Mem is over twice the size even at it's reduced capacity. EDIT: Actually a lot of conflicting info but it's most certainly not lower capacity.

Agreed - I'm sure that there's not one Rovers' fan who is happy about the ground situation. However, there is no need to populate every thread with the same negative comments, it's bordering on trolling.

As far as the Mem, given your long association with the club I assume you know more than most why previous development plans have never come to fruition.

In fairness I can see the frustration if you haven’t got a ticket for the two huge home games coming up against Forest Green and Scunthorpe, which in previous years about 1500 more Gasheads would have been able to attend. I’ve luckily got my ST, but I would have a brought a few more along if I could.

The capacity at the Mem now is about the same as the capacity WAS when we played at Twerton. The attendance for the Liverpool cup game in 1992 was 9,462.
