The kickoff has been confirmed for 6:45pm on Saturday 23rd April 2022. www.bristolroverswomensfc.com/hergametooFor me, this is too large a gap between the two games (2 hours). I was hoping it would be straight afterwards, but I guess there are too many logistical issues for that.
It's almost like two separate events now, rather than a "Double Header".

was going to attend, but what to do for 2 hours? Can't drink as driving, so guess will now not stay and watch. Such a great opportunity being right royally effed up. The ladies team deserve better than this.

Whilst understanding the sentiments expressed here the reality is that there is going to be quite a bit of work to do between the two games. Mens team (x 2 plus officials) have to come in, debrief, shower, change etc. Then there will be a clean up of all the detritus left behind. Then prep the ladies kit for their arrival, change, warm up etc. Would think 2 hours is a reasonable estimate?

Agree 100% with the logistics, but I was hoping that a solution could be found to ensure that people stay to watch both games.

Thats a shame cant the ladies team turn up ready to go ie in kit ? Start 30 mins after mens game ? Then you got 30mins plus first half of ladies game to sort changing rooms ?? 2 hours is way to long

All good intentions for a double header ruined IMO. I've watched a few ladies games and was looking forward to a quick turnaround after the mens game. I get to the ground early but even those who turn up just before k.o. are unlikely to hang around for nearly 6 hours. It's now 2 separate events. How long does it take to empty the terraces and stands and then let people back in. 530-545 KO. Plenty of time for another pint. If there are legal/safety reasons it would be nice to know. If this was the 80s I'd be writing to points of view.
Why o why o..... spells yoyo

Personally due to my travel distance I would not be staying for the game. But I fully understand why there would have to be a good time between the two games for obvious reasons. No doubt a good few of the local supporters will guarantee a crowd well in excess of what the ladies normally play in front of.

That's a real shame. Could have been a good couple of thousand staying on if a 5.30 kick off. Expect most will have to leave if its really that long a gap

That’s a shame. Too long a gap to hang around with the kids, especially as have a long drive home. Hope they get a decent crowd though.

If it’s good weather I can actually see quite a few stay behind, grab some tea, few drinks with the kids and look forward to welcoming the girls onto the pitch.
Avoid the traffic being a bonus, as I say probably depends on the weather, let’s all hope for a warm sunny evening 👍🏼

I think people are underestimating the turnaround time to stage another full game and under two hours seems pretty good to me.
The pitch will need to be inspected, security/stewards shifts swapped, food and drink stalls topped up, changing rooms inspected and cleaned (imagine the state of THEM after a match), match officials changed and ready and a whole host of other tasks I can't think of.
All this just can't be done in half an hour.
Anyway it's really only 90 mins. Match doesn't finish until just before 5 and most will be in the stadium by 6:30, 15 mins before kickoff.
Go for a stroll, have a coffee, get a bite to eat, have a pint or two. It's really not very long.

The time gap will put some people off.
I vaguely remember the previous incarnation of the Gas Girls playing a similar double header with the men's team but can't remember such a gap.
A lot of the current men's squad must travel home up north after Saturday games and many must have a five minute shower as I often see them leaving the stadium around 5.30-5.45 after I finish my post match and try and let the traffic disperse.

Wouldn't be thousands and if people have to leave the ground first then they would only need to reopen either the Thatchers end or East Terrace. During covid visiting teams changed elsewhere. Don't think the ladies would have an issue with a makeshift changing room in exchange for a lot more spectators. Kit could always be moved to the main changing rooms for half time. It just seems a very long day which many won't fancy

'Yes, we could have everything ready for a 5:30 kickoff, but we're going to make the buggers wait another 75 minutes just because we can.'

Players warm down and then emptying the changing rooms now take a good hour

If it’s too inconvenient on this occasion, rock up and show support on a Sunday and watch them at their regular ground for the next home league or cup fixture?
Easy.

I assume we’ll be allowed to leave the ground between games? If so I’ll go get some food and come back for kick off I think

Think their seasons have now finished? But, having watched a few Gas Girls games at Lockleaze, whilst the standard isn’t the same as the mens team they do play great entertaining football and it is a good watch (as well as the women generally just standing up to and riding hard tackles without moaning and less ‘feigning or acting’ on show. Forest Green will be a tough game for them as FGR are from the division we’ve just been promoted in to.

If so I’ll go get some food and come back for kick off I think Think you will be able to (not 100%) and I do think that the fan zone is going to be open and have live music on in between the 2 matches etc so if the weather is good it could be a great atmosphere (especially if we’ve just beaten the mens team!)…
