Way off the pace since he came back after injury. Cannot afford passengers at this stage of the season. Thought brown tongues were history.

I thought that was the term, it's a totally bizarre post after we won 3-1 at the league's form side, particularly as the only PV goal came down Hoole's side of the pitch!

To be fair he did look a bit rusty, maybe just missing a bit of match sharpness

just before he was injured he was playing as well as i had seen him play. he did seem to lack sharpness yesterday and maybe Clarke should play if he is ready.

Played well v Salford was ok v P Vale , not my first choice left back I think Anderton is more solid. I didn’t like grant in midfield , I thought he was usually pretty poor over the last two seasons but as cover for Anderton that’s decent cover for this level.

I thought he did ok v PV. He underhit several of his passes but he has real skill and is comfortable on the ball and when he plays well he can be one of our best. He has been out so perhaps getting back into match fitness. Ive always thought he’s not as popular on here because of his links to last season perhaps though JB seems to like him when fit. Hasn’t played with Elliott A much but I thought it was ok yesterday and it would mean two of our most skilful players being on the left.
UTG!

What a bizarre OP? Grant was a bit off the pace against PV but as a player he’s an outstanding really versatile talent. He was playing outstanding before his injury and no doubt will get back to playing as well as he was again…. Don’t forget, he shifted from LB seamlessly to CM when Anderton came on and did an important role there to help us secure 3 points…

Obvs it takes a few games to get up to speed.

Obvs it takes a few games to get up to speed. Amazing that some have to find a player to moan about. Loft scoring meant was hard for him to be picked on so Grant next in line. He use to be the subject of much criticism before his switch to LB/LWB this season. Maybe Harries should be on the bench so they can concentrate their moaning on him! And we won the last two games. Do these people think we should get rid if JB because he picked Grant and Loft?

Grant played 90 minutes on Monday and 70 on Friday. If there were any doubts about his fitness he wouldn't have played that many minutes.
That being said, Anderson has come on a lot since the start of the season and fitted in well during Grants absence. When we are trying to see a game out brining a more defensive minded Anderton on at left back and moving Grant into the midfield also worked on Monday.

Josh Grant did have a few dodgy touches against PV, but he's a really good player that always gives 100%. To single him out for criticism after being part of a good away win is a bit ridiculous imo.
As the OP said - he's just back from injury - I predict he will benefit massively from that 90 mins and put in a storming performance this Saturday!

I would imagine that JG filled in at left back due to Anderton not being fully 90mins fit and Trevor Clarke continuing to find form/fitness.
I don’t think he looks that comfortable there but did an ok job

I'd go Trevor Clarke over Grant at the moment. But it's nice to have the choice.
