Yeah nothing to lose at this stage of the season. Although even if he is available do we even need a CDM v Scunny? That's not disrespecting Scunny either, we just need to go all out attack. That’s not how football works though is it. I mean yeah we need to get on the front foot and attack but you do that successfully by having a balanced side that have gelled. Not by just playing all your most attacking players and tearing forward. Do that and we’ll lose the game. I'm not saying throw extra forwards on, I just don't think we need a CDM at home against the worst team in the league when we need goals

If there is evidence on one of our analyst cameras, could show their player pushing Coutts and his retaliation wasn't as bad as first thought and the ref maybe should have giving a yellow to both players instead of a straight red.

But equally could show that he's bang to rights and a red was the correct decision. If even Barton thinks it was violent conduct then it must've been bad!

Without any video evidence it would be a complete waste of time. The referee is never going to say he got it wrong. Not only will they likely add an extra match to the ban, they will remember us wasting their time if we want to appeal anything next season.

Countless clubs appeal through the correct channels every season, most of them in hope more than expectation. Not entirely sure they are penalised further down the line for wasting any one’s time.

Your probably right but I don’t think the club should be wasting the football leagues / FA’s time. Let’s hope there is an actual video which gives us grounds to appeal.

According to a Dale fan he did it right in front of the referee. Totally needless so he deserves the ban imo same as the Mansfield away game he should know better

Ah well, if a vale fan said that he must be right, just seems strange that if you watch it on i follow the ref was not right in front of him ?

No side plays without a central midfielder who can get it and give it. All the successful sides have a good one.

All we could see on ifollow was a number of players jostling each other and young Connolly on the deck. As they always seem to do the refs stay out of the way, as was the case here.

Coutt's passing has been superb for the last few games, he's more of a deep playmaker than a defensive midfielder. Always available for the easy pass...

Witness statements from Rochdale players might help.

It sounds like they didn't give it much consideration given the quick response!

It sounds like they didn't give it much consideration given the quick response! Presumably they gave a quick decision as we have an important game in 3 days time!

Probably went something like “ that’s Barton’s club isn’t it ? No chance “

So I presume we won’t start with Whelan on Sat but will utilise him in the play offs? Has he got 90 mins x 3 in him? I know we can mix it up and tinker but Coutts has been integral in our new year form. Does worry me somewhat. Might work out for the best let’s see.

Even if he starts I doubt it he'll last more than 45 mins or so, and we might not need him for the play offs if results go our way on Saturday.
