So I presume we won’t start with Whelan on Sat but will utilise him in the play offs? Has he got 90 mins x 3 in him? I know we can mix it up and tinker but Coutts has been integral in our new year form. Does worry me somewhat. Might work out for the best let’s see. Even if he starts I doubt it he'll last more than 45 mins or so, and we might not need him for the play offs if results go our way on Saturday. Yes I realise there is an outside chance of avoiding play offs but just wondered what peoples thoughts are ref going into play offs with limited 90min CDM options.

Play Elliott as the deep centre mid play maker. Can win the ball and pick a pass!

Play Elliott as the deep centre mid play maker. Can win the ball and pick a pass! But that will reduce his attacking potential and he’s been central to us scoring. Also if we are in playoffs not sure he knows the dark arts to nullify the smarter forwards.

I'm not saying throw extra forwards on, I just don't think we need a CDM at home against the worst team in the league when we need goals But the way that we play involves that cdm winning the ball and starting our attacks. No side plays without a central midfielder who can get it and give it. All the successful sides have a good one. They way we have been playing has got us wins, but not many big wins which we will need on Saturday. IMO we need to do what we did in the 2nd half vs Rochdale, balls deep attack

The last time Whelan played the full 90 minutes was against Barrow at the Mem on 1st March. He then played 64 minutes the following week at Newport. He has only had limited minutes since then off the bench.

If Grant is fit he will be backup for Whelan in the CDM position.

Two analyst videos and a witness statement from a rochdale player, no wonder Joey has called the appeal board soul less. Their only evidence the referees report and they still standby their man.

From Joeys press conference this afternoon. Thanks, I hadn't seen that. Josh Andrews the Dale striker was the character witness.

Shocking from the FA! Its bad enough the standard of refs at this level, can't even admit when they are wrong. I'm sure the only person in the entire ground to see that as a sending off was the ref!

Just seen that Josh Andrews statement said he was the one that started the said incident.

Just seen that Josh Andrews statement said he was the one that started the said incident. But retaliation is a red card. (Andrews should get retrospective punishment though) As Joey himself said, you cant give the ref the reason

I know Coutts is a fiery player but that's twice he has done that now. Wining away from home after coming back from 2 nil down, no need to get involved in handbags

He shouldn’t have reacted but ultimately we’re all human and these things happen. It’s a great shame but I’ve got to say I’ve loads of respect for the Rochdale player who didn’t need to do what he did to try to help us out. Top class.
