Scunthorpe will know that we will need to score a hatful to make the Northampton result irrelevant and will set up to make that difficult for us. Could be quite frustrating so an early goal or two is key

I’m just happy to see smiling faces once again at the club we all love, smiling faces that believe we can start ascending again with pride in our hearts and fight and desire in our players shirts. This season has made me proud and excited again not matter what happens herein.
All I can say is “Good luck lads and thank you” 💙

Play the usual game, but we need to start pulling the trigger from everywhere. No extra two passes, or going wide to Hoole when a shot is fully on, have a crack. Nobody will scoff at that!
We need a repeat of that Northampton home game (2017/18) 4-0 up inside the first 20mins, that would send shock waves through Cumbria!

Can’t go gung-ho from the start, conceding a goal or more will make it an impossible task.Take it to them in a controlled way,see what’s happening at Barrow (they might get ahead themselves) we may just need any sort of win come the end so don’t want to be chasing any kind of deficit if that’s the case. Northampton have scored the opening goal in their last 4 games and we have only scored the opening goal once in our last 7 outings - both of these runs are due to end. Just as an aside, spoke to lofty and Elliot Anderson today (they’re lodging in the same house) lofty looking to bail at the end of the season he has a house in Huddersfield and seems like he would favour a move back oop north.Might change if he’s Saturdays/Play off hero mind.Young Elliot wants to play in tha Championship next season (no surprise there) nothing fixed up yet and it is of course Newcastle who will decide what level he will be pitched in at next season. Well if Loftys looking to bail there is the little matter of a 2.5 year contract to sort out with Joey and the club first.

Surprised Lofty would be unprofessional enough to tell a fan something like that. Pretty daft if so.

We have to attack, attack, attack imo. I'll be surprised if the game plan is anything else. 4/5 goals in the first half and go again in the second.
Though I think Barrow might be tricky opposition for the Northampton, we got to try our hardest to help ourselves.

If they do play 8/9 teenagers Saturday, just need to make sure the Mem is loud and hostile and hopefully they will just fold.

I’d play Whelan alongside Finley. That’s more solid and also gives license to Billy and Evo to play in more dangerous areas where we know they can both be lethal. If Whelan can only play 60 mins then we can change things then. Also, if we have play offs after that then Whelan is more match-fit so it’s a bit of a no-brainer to me.

Excluding Alfreton in the Conference, when was the last time we won a game by 6 clear goals in the EFL? Reading 23 years ago?
Struggling to remember another.
6, 7, 8-0 scorelines seldom happen, even when teams play sides many leagues below in the cup.
The fact that we probably NEED to score 6, 7 or 8 only makes it more difficult in my opinion.
Scunthorpe have only lost 1 of their last 3 games, a 2-1 defeat away at Bradford. Not bad considering the Bantams knocked 4 past Sutton in their next game.
Their results have actually improved slightly since they introduced a few of their younger prospects.
We'd all love to thrash them on Saturday but any sort of win is a good result and the first priority has to be to make sure we pick up 3 points.
If we get 2 or 3 goals up then we can afford to take a few more risks and go all out to try and score as many as possible.

Not sure how this goal diffrence works, If Northahampon win say 2 1 do we still need to win 6 nil or would 5 be enough as Barrow got 1 goal?

A bit ironic that it was against Northampton.
We're going to need one of those days where pretty much everything flies in.
