Scunthorpe, whose relegation was confirmed in mid-April, have lost eight of their last 10 games in League Two, haven’t won since February 8 and the average age of their starting XI against Hartlepool last weekend was 20.09 - featuring seven teenagers, including a 16-year-old and 17-year-old - as they prepare for life in the National League.
Let's feckin go for them. A big win could make massive history! How many do you think we will win by? 😁

Barrow haven't failed to score in any of there last 5 games total and last 5 at home so hopefully we can rely on them to at nick at least a goal against Northampton and with them not being the most prolific I reckon it will only be a goal margin if they do win. That would mean we would need to win 6-0 to send us up on goals scored. Seems unlikely but weirder things have happened.
Although it would definitely be much easier if Barrow manage to do one over on Northampton. As long as it ends with the gas in 3rd.

Maybe it’s 35 years of watching Rovers, but a big part of me gets uneasy about talk of smashing someone 6-0 or even winning full stop.
I just think the team need to be fully focused on just winning, no major tinkering with formation, just replace Coutts with Whelan. Guy has been class every time I’ve seen him and I bet he’s desperate to play a full 90
If we get fully behind the team from the off and don’t stop that could be worth a crucial goal. I’m really looking forward to the whole day, should be one to stick in the fond Rovers moments part of my memory.
Whatever the outcome, we need to show the players how much we appreciate their efforts this campaign. If it is the play offs we need to be on a high.

I have felt really confident about it as soon as the Rochdale game finished, i just think it's our destiny now to get promoted. We will get at them from the start ,we got a free hit here, who knows what could happen if we get an early goal. Scunthorpe have took a few hammerings already this season and heads can quickly drop as the goals go in.
It's gonna be a hostile noisy crowd, and we are gonna hit them for six.

I just watched their goals in their last 2 games and both were silly errors at the back by the opposition, I think and hope we take the game by the scruff of the neck and go for it.

Hmmmm not sure it will be hostile. Think back to Daggers Russ. It was far from hostile, think back to Macclesfield when we dropped out the league, it was hushed and nervous! Or was that just me?! To be honest both games are a blurr. The hangovers were legendary although drinking for different reasons.

I just know Scunthorpe will put on their best display of the season and we'll win 1-0.
But that's ok because all the others will draw.

Can’t go gung-ho from the start, conceding a goal or more will make it an impossible task.Take it to them in a controlled way,see what’s happening at Barrow (they might get ahead themselves) we may just need any sort of win come the end so don’t want to be chasing any kind of deficit if that’s the case. Northampton have scored the opening goal in their last 4 games and we have only scored the opening goal once in our last 7 outings - both of these runs are due to end. Just as an aside, spoke to lofty and Elliot Anderson today (they’re lodging in the same house) lofty looking to bail at the end of the season he has a house in Huddersfield and seems like he would favour a move back oop north.Might change if he’s Saturdays/Play off hero mind.Young Elliot wants to play in tha Championship next season (no surprise there) nothing fixed up yet and it is of course Newcastle who will decide what level he will be pitched in at next season.

I can take winning but it not being quite enough. What worries me is we struggle, the crowd gets nervous and Scunny sneak it. But, we are guaranteed play offs, so hopefully that calms everyones nerves!
Rovers 3-0 Collins, Billy, Loft
Also - when did we last have a penalty?! Must be overdue

That will happen later when Ben Garner's Wiltshire Warriors knock us out. 😱

So let’s say Northampton win 1-0.
Let’s be fair very few would expect us to score enough to overtake them. Did someone say we need to win by six clear goals.
We’ve waited along time for this moment. If we end up third by scoring six it will be ground-breaking. Bring it on. I think we might just do this.
I know a few more think we can score six. Wouldn’t it be amazing. I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one.
Today, I’ve been listening on repeat to “Ain’t no mountain high enough to keep me from you.”🤞🤞

I'd love to think we could score enough to bring our goal difference level with Northampton but realistically it's a huge ask. Personally I think we firstly have to make sure we win the game, there would be nothing worse than Barrow helping us out & us not doing our job. I just hope the crowd don't show up expecting us to go gung ho from minute 1, if we leave ourselves open we could end up having to chase the game.

www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/mansfield-clough-bristol-rovers-promotion-7037581“Northampton have a tough one at Barrow and I actually think the favourites are Bristol Rovers, to be fair. They are at home to Scunthorpe, which is an ideal fixture on the last day of the season. "So unless Scunthorpe produce something miraculous that they haven't done over the last 45 games, then I think Bristol Rovers are favourites. “If Northampton win they are up and they know what they need to do, but it's tough going to Barrow
