When the 7th goal went in Billy and the team all ran to the corner and I think what looked like some youth team players went over to them. The Thatchers end followed their lead. Stewards, well not enough, and and they are not nightclub bouncers. It's lucky some Rovers players were not injured, three men jumped on Billy nearly knocking him over. Points deduction? maybe, but it would probably be next season.

Game still in play pitch invasion was complete stupidity. Northampton were still playing, we could had needed 8 and we had momentum to achieve this. And when we did eventually make it back onto the pitch to finish the game and knowing the final result at Barrow, you think to yourself, what if Scunny sneak a goal ? So well done the idiots who almost ruined it for us all. What if? They didn't. That's the story over. You think it's fair Man City knew the Liverpool result before they even kicked off? I get what station is saying, that was his/her fear at that moment in time, nothing to do with knowing the score, but fearing the worse should Scunthorpe score a sneaky goal. A thought that did actually go through my head at that time and also that of Joey Barton, as reported in the press after the game.

Why post utter nonsense there's no chance of a points deduction this season or next, the very worse could be a suspended points deduction but even that's pretty unlikely given that it was our first offence for some time. I can't recall one team ever having a points deduction for a game being suspended after their fans invaded the pitch after they scored a goal. As far as the Scunthorpe goalie being hit, Wael posted a video of the goal and subsequent pitch invasion and there's no signs of him being hit, although one fan seemed to be gesturing to him for some odd reason.

Yes Bags point taken ππΒ not in the quaint Frenchay village pub mate ππΊ Would that be the White Lion on Frenchay Common? Can't think of another pub when I lived there...mind you that was 43 years ago!

Maybe the way forward would be for the EFL to make a statement that from the start of the 2022/23 season there will be an immediate points deduction should fans stage a pitch invasion prior to the final whistle
I think there would be legal implications if they tried this on us and Northampton were promoted. Where would it stop do we hand over the 1990 league title to c**y because we invaded the pitch at Blackpool.

Yes Bags point taken ππΒ not in the quaint Frenchay village pub mate ππΊ I had the best pint of Abbot I've ever tasted in the White Lion last week. Not strictly relevant to the thread. They should have had more stewards and police lined up. It can't have been the world's greatest surprise that the idiots ran into the pitch because they haven't the patience to wait four minutes. Ten years ago or longer the stewards would have been out in force 10 mins before the end, but things seem to have relaxed a bit. I would have said that was great news, but sadly the morons let us down.

Unfortunately Iβve heard big rumours that Aghast charged out onto Frenchay common five minutes before they finished the Abbot and is now facing a month ban from the Lion.

Having just skimmed through the full match, the stewarding numbers in front of the thatchers & particularly in the corner where the majority come from, is absolutely pitifulππ€¦π» It's been like that for a while. We talked about it on another thread, it doesn't excuse what happened, but it doesn't help that you place your own safety and safety of loved ones with some whom are minors and or don't have comprehension of English. Oxford match was a good template. Stewards looking like kids just watched on amazement, while someone called the police and some were either arrested or ejected. ....and both of those instances we over exuberance and excitement, what would happen if something more sinister arises ? I have no faith in what I've seen this season safety could be guaranteed.
