The impact Elliot has had reminds me of the time AFCB loaned Jermaine Defoe in the noughties. Scored a hatful of goals in just under a season and was clearly destined for greater things. I saw Defoe make his AFCB debut away at Stoke, what a player, scoring 19/29 goals that season with a run of 10 consecutive scoring games. He went back to West Ham and secured a first team place. Wouldn’t surprise me with Elliot either.
UTG!

I can think of several quality youngsters that I've watched in U18 and U23 football over the past year or so that have the ability to potentially make an impact in League One, but the question is can they handle the pressure of playing for points week in week out infront of large hostile crowds, can they handle the physicality of the senior game and do they have the right attitude to going out on loan? Billy Elliot (and Defoe) had all this in abundance and is a credit to himself, his family and his parent club. The loan market is certainly something we should look to exploit, but can sometimes be hit and miss.
