My first match was a biggie - Vs Huddersfield at the old Wembley. Didn’t make it to a home game until we had moved into the Mem though. That is big for a first game. I remember painting my face green and black for that one. My wife thought I was sad (she still does) We were all sad after that one.

Rovers 3 Leicester City 1, FA Cup 3rd round in January 1986. I travelled to this game as a neutral from Sussex, little did I know at the time that I would move to Bristol with work less than 18 months later. My next Rovers match was in September 1987 at Ashton Gate, a 3-3 draw and that's the day I nailed my colours to the mast of the Pirate ship! This was my first two rovers games as well! I remember the 3-3 draw as my dad took in the city end, and I remember him giving me instructions not to cheer if anyone scores!

I jest of course, wonder if any one was there ,have to 90 odd now ! I played at Luton's ground back when they had a plastic pitch (boo) and after the game I saw some medals being thrown into a skip at the back of the ground. Had to help myself to one - only to discover they were issued to commerate Joe Paynes 10 goals against my beloved Rovers! Serves me right for skip surfing

Think I have posted this previously on a similar thread, reserve game v Oxford at Eastville, 1975 0-0. Dreadful experience, surprised I ever went back. ( and at times since then still wonder!)

Eastville, beating first division Leicester in the FA Cup. The first game my dad took me to. Now that was a lively afternoon from what I remember,Leicester trying to invade the pitch, and they were only stopped by the Muller road fences back then, happy days

My dad took me to my first game which was Rovers against Plymouth in Oct 1976, I was nine years old with Frankie Prince scoring a late equaliser in a 1:1 draw. There was lots of trouble that day which as a kid I found was both exhilarating and frightening!

Rovers v Brighton in April 1968. We won 3-1. All I remember is Alex Munro coming on as a sub. A lot of water down the Ganges since then.

I was a wee lad living in Kettering and we were in the third round of the FA cup. Excitement galore as the draw was made - hoping for Man U item away or at home . Instead we got Bristol Rovers away but I was too young to travel. Fortunately it was a draw and the replay took place onWednesday January 9th 1969 at Rockingham Road . Little did I know then that kits 15 years later I would be in Bristol and a gas head for 30 years +
