Sounds like we’ve signed a quality player in Jordan, just hope we can keep him fit & injury free & he doesn’t end up like one of the best players I’ve seen to wear a Rovers shirt, Jamie Shore.

your all forgetting we have a decent medical team these days. Rossiter will be a success here I’m sure. Great replacement for Whelo

Like many, I’m worried about the injuries. At Liverpool/Rangers he never got going due to lots of niggling injuries. That was part one of his career. Since leaving Rangers he’s seemed a bit more robust yet still clearly hampered by injuries: Bury/Fleetwood Feb 19 - Nov 19: 36 appearances Serious knee injury Nov 19: out for a year Fleetwood Nov 20 - Oct 21: 46 appearances Oct 21 - now: injured Does anyone know what he’s been out with since last October? On the surface it does seem like a punt but it’s worth remembering that Barton was his manager when he suffered that knee injury so he must know more about him than most. I can't find any Fleetwood articles confirming the nature of the injury, just various updates suggesting that he'd be returning soon but never did! I wonder if he wasn't actually injured but simply not picked for some reason (contract extension trigger?), if he was out injured for most of last season then JB seems to have taken a big gamble offering him a two year contract before he's proved he's fully fit.

Im sure players take medicals before contracts are signed...well i hope so.

Persistent calf injury apparently. Let’s hope that’s all behind him now

I know he was thought very highly of by the staff in Kirkby and although breaking into the Liverpool first team was always going to be tough it’s to his credit that he decided to move away to get first team football elsewhere which says a lot about his character. If he can avoid injuries for a significant period of time he’ll be a very useful player.

His diminutive stature wasn’t in his favour as a midfielder, doubt he’d ever have nailed down a place at Liverpool but he’s still got plenty of miles left on the clock at this level.

Paying a fee for a player who hasn't played for over half a season apparently due to long term issues with his calf makes it all the odder! Let's hope he his now fully fit and remains that way or otherwise this will go down as one of our strangest transfers. As far as medicals no doubt Nolan, L Clarke and Hughes all passed them, or at least didn't raise any major issues but that meant nothing when it came to be match fit.

Having watched him back then he was always a dominant presence in the middle of the park and competed well physically. He was fairly tall and lean, certainly not what I would call a diminutive stature. Brendan Rodgers had him training with the first team and involved in first-team matchday squads and he made 5 appearances at first team level, where he impressed. It was simply a case of injuries holding him back.

His best game in a Liverpool shirt was his debut, he didn’t get much of a go after that to be fair. He’s definitely on the small/average height, maybe 5ft 7 or 5ft 8? Certainly not tall.

Certainly not tall. 5ft 10 according to most sources. I like the description of his playing style on the Liverpool Wiki page - albeit 7 years ago.
'Rossiter is credited as an aggressive, tough-tackling but forward-thinking midfielder, notable for a good passing ability'.

I raise you Marcus Andreasson so good we signed him twice and the finish player who had snu s and lasted 4 weeks 😂

Seems a big risk to me. Clearly has potential to be a good signing but evidence overwhelmingly supports him being injury prone. I guess we have to trust Joey based on his recruitment so far but could easily go either way.

Good luck to the lad, hopefully brings some more bite to our midfield.

Fleetwood would certainly not have put him on their retained list if they had any serious doubts about his long term fitness, unless they felt it was worth the risk. I would doubt it'll be a large fee.
