The EP says it is likely the club (well Wael) will have to pay a fine for the Scunthorpe pitch invasion.
Pass the fine on to the culprits I say.
And they should pay the cost of a season ticket for each of the seasons they miss while they are banned, due to the loss of income for the football club.

Don't disagree with banning pitch invasions mid game to protect players but would be a pity to stop fans celebrating promotions, cup wins etc at the end of a match. It is part of what makes watching football better than any other sport and has been going on for generations.
'There are some people on the pitch, they think it's all over - it is now!'

A moment of passion celebrating one of the biggest moments in our history doesn’t mean we should ruin fans life’s by crippling them with debts/fines!!
Get a grip
Teams up and down the country do it every season, it’s a part of the promotion parcel.

EFL are clamping down on pitch invasions, we may get away with a fine, but making clubs charged play in an empty stadium or reduced ground capacity is also reportedly being discussed, hopefully us,Port Vale and other clubs with recent pitch invasions won't be made a example of.

On the pitch during the game ? Dickhead.
On the pitch celebrating promotion ? Normal fan behaviour.
Simple.

I would expect that we are being punished as our pitch invasion made the referee take the players off for their own safety and the opposition goalkeeper got punched. That is so different from all the other pitch invasions that happened at the final whistle.

But the first invasion happened before the game ended we were not promoted at that time and the Scunthorpe goalie was assaulted, it is the host clubs responsibility to ensure players are protected and safe, we failed to do that because some brainless morons ran on the pitch, so now IF we have to play our first game behind close doors everyone will suffer.

Predictable as game was still in progress. There were however several serious incidents during post game celebrations at a few other games which i would expect to incur punishments.

It’s happens I’m not saying it’s right in any way but let’s be real it will just be a slap on the wrist fine.

As mentioned in another thread, where’s this energy for slamming the pitch invasions of Blackpool 1990, Crewe 1995, Brentford 1997, even Dagenham 2016! Two of those were during play, but it seems the 2022 celebrations are the worst of the worst.
It’s not my bag to go on the pitch during play, far from it. But the league are actually fining us for post match pitch celebrations also, after one of the greatest promotions the EFL has ever seen and will never see again.
Go figure!

I think we play a defensive bat and say it was a unique situation that no other club in history has had to face - Winning 7-0 to secure promotion was a very difficult experience we apologise and wont do it again
Or we could be honest and say;
Too much taunton cider inside a few moronic fans. A situation not helped by the boys in blue sat in their vans outside the ground who took an age to respond.

My first pitch invasion was versus Southampton FA Cup 1978. For those who complain it can damage the pitch - look at the state of Eastville BEFORE we invaded!
