I think something BIG is soon to be announced 👀 Pitman has already signed elsewhere.

Great news in my opinion. Love the bloke as a manager, not a huge fan off it, but his passion and enthusiasm is second to none. UTG

I noticed that Barton, Mangan, Coutts, Gorringe and a couple of other backroom staff were having a long de-brief on the pitch at Melksham when the game finished last night. They looked like a very tight knit group, which seems to be the ethos running through the club these days.

Rather amused me how long they had to wait while JB was signing autographs and taking selfies.

I thought the interview and reporting around the new contract was slightly odd. Not having a go at anyone, but rather than reporting he had been rewarded with a contract extension and was delighted, as is normally the case, it was more like he'd agreed to stay with us and we should be grateful.

Do Joey believe the club could well have a huge fanbase if Premiership status was ever attained? He was very impressed when Rovers had the large following at Liverpool's Anfield stadium. I realise this was a long time ago!

This Bloke will be a GAS Legend for years to come👍 Is there no sense of perspective or memory longer than that of a goldfish on football forums? He's got us one relegation and one promotion. So maybe on a par with Paul Trollope at the moment. Make your bold statement in a couple of years.

Do you think it would have been league 1 with Tisdale in charge, and please do not tell me we were outside the relegation zone when Barton came in. We were already in free fall. Might have just about survived if Garner had stayed, but who knows. Either way Barton has made a heck of difference so support is justified.

Whether you like it our not - what has been achieved over the last season has been a combination of Wael, Joe, TG & others working as a joined up team to take BRFC to the next level and hopefully beyond. I’m making a bold statement now, not in a couple of years as you suggest - most supporters want and hope I’m sure, the positivity being generated now, not the negativity you would rather generate and wallow in. Why are you coming over as being so negative after such a positive season?

Yes, straight back into League One , created a totally different ethos, which the players buy into. Also, numerous improvements off the pitch, which make us far more professional, have been instigated by JB.

James Belshaw, Connor Taylor, James Connolly, Anthony Evans and of course The Geordie Maradona. I don't think most of us had ever heard of most of them before they signed. They were all top class.

The week he turned up, players were shovelling tobacco in their mouths on the training pitch😂 The medical department/personnel, catering staff, nutritionists, performance analysis team? All these people he has brought to the club taking things off the pitch to levels above. Not to mention help rid the club of those who were contributing to dragging it on a downward spiral. Widds, Starnes etc… But sure, ‘all he did’ was get us promoted🤷🏻♂️

Good point about getting rid of Starnes and Wriddington, who replaced the seemingly equally poor Hamer, as any previous Rovers manager shook the whole club up and, seemingly, set it heading in the right direction on and off the pitch?
Possibly only Gerry Francis Mk1 did something similar but Mk2 was a total disaster.

That's a complete surprise which not everyone will welcome. Well done Wael for your continued committment to the club. Can we infer from this news that his court case has been cancelled? I expect the contract will include clauses to cover all eventualities. Wael isn't stupid. Unlike a few, who for whatever reason decided to criticise Joey from day one, and have been proved to be totally wrong; Wael recognises and appreciates the asset he has in Joey, and rewarded him while protecting his interest. Joey knows what he is doing, he told us the team he inherited were not good enough, and he has since rebuilt the team who not only won promotion, but also did so playing an exciting brand of football, the like which we have not seen before at the MEM. Joey sells tickets, the MEM is rocking, we will not miss any supporters who unfortunately feel they are unable to watch, or get behind what Joey is doing at the football club.
