Exactly and in theory this new statement doesnt actually change anything. The rules are still the same rules they have been for years If you go on the pitch, you risk being banned like you always have But the rules have never, ever, been enforced previously after a big cup win etc, even back to the 60's when England won the world up "they think it's all over..." fans were invading the pitch without any penalties being imposed. Posters now making out it's a serious crime were probably on the pitch themselves after the Scunthorpe game. Well, I didnt go on the pitch. People dont go on the pitch when they are promoted at Wembley do they Even if it hasnt been enforced before for mass invasions, it may now because players and staff have been assaulted in at least 3 occasions towards the end of last season. Not a hard concept to understand

The people who ran onto the pitch after the 7th goal were idiots, but for what it's worth the steward in front of us in the West Enclosure opened the gate after the final whistle and pretty much invited us onto the pitch. After a minute or two I strolled on.

Th fact is- it’s not a black n white subject an never will be.
And yes, folk will still run on th pitch celebrating a momentous result.
And no, they won’t all be banned.

I was there and chose not to go on the pitch on either occasion, but I have no issue with others doing that after the match as long as its done in the right spirit. The players and staff seem to love it, bearing in mind the connection which builds up between players, management and fans during a successful campaign.
Looking at the wider picture, the nation has just come out of an unprecedented pandemic and the pitch invasions across the country were in part a release of a lot of pent up frustration.
The idiots who took things too far and assaulted people should be dealt with the way anybody does away from a football pitch but let the rest of us enjoy a rare moment of joy.

Can’t believe for a single second, people actually stood in the Mem looking down on Gasheads who graced the pitch at the full time whistle scowling in a disapproving manner.

UTG What about opposition players who are on the pitch when thousands of opposition supporters invade? I know I wouldn’t fancy being in that position, especially in recent times when more and more ‘supporters’ think it’s ok to be so in your face, aggressive and in some cases physically violent. Why can’t people just do as they are told? The vast majority manage it so why can’t the rest? The traditional lap of honour which players used to enjoy (often with their kids) at the end of the final home game seems to have disappeared.

Anyone who runs onto the pitch during the game should get a $5000 fine. Oh and they should also get their pants pulled down in the center circle at half time. That’s what happens in Australia. End of problem.

For the last two promotions it was not possible to see the team and acknowledge after the game. On Lee Brown day the team could not go round the pitch fully as people were still on the pitch. Let's build the new stadium so that the seats at the front are 10+feet above pitch level. That will stop it. Would also give god eyeline for all. Have seen a ground like that somewhere in europe.

Should have gone on the pitch then at full time and celebrated then, instead of standing there hoping to be able to give a polite round of applause as the players waved as they walked past! Save that for the seasons where sod all happened

I’d bet everything I own it isn’t a slow boring walk around the pitch looking at half the stadium slowly clap them, because everyone’s chipped off to beat the traffic or bar queues!

The football authorities / filth / football clubs think differently. Perhaps they should have asked your considered opinion before submission m' lord. Keep off the pitch during playing time and you won't get a ban. Carry a pyro / smoke device ? You deserve a ban. This isn't Naples doncha know.
