1957, but can't remember the team we played or the score. At the time I was 4, coming up to 5 and we lived at 566 Stapleton Road (or as we now know it the M32 slip road!). I was in the Boys Enclosure in the Muller Road end whilst my dad joined in with all the other smokers and flat cap wearers in another part of that end! I'm pretty sure we must have won as I've hardly missed a home game since then!

Late December, back in 63. Oh what a night. I may write a song about it, in Four Seasons time.

20 April 1968, seven years and three months old. We beat Brighton 3-1. I went maybe twice the next season but went to almost every home game in 69/70. What got me hooked were the two runs in the league cup in the early 70s. Happy days. I’m glad I take it far less seriously these days.

Neighbours (Brian and Nigel England if anyone remembers them) took me as a treat to see us beat Tranmere 1-0 in April 74, as I had just turned 6 and they had forgotten my birthday. I was hooked much to my old man’s annoyance as he’s, ahem…a red. 😂

December 1977. I think the Sunderland game (3-2 win). 4 years old. My actual first live game was the previous week, watching C*ty vs Ipswich Ted 🙄

Can’t remember who we played, but 1985/86 under Bobby Gould was the first season I attended games. The first actual matches I remember the teams for at Twerton was the Wimbledon game (FA Cup holders at time, 1988?) and the Liverpool one, along with them playing Newcastle. It’s weird now to think that I don’t remember who we played in those first games I attended for three seasons of the likes of Brentford, Reading, Wolves, Swansea, Bolton, Cardiff, Bournemouth, when they have all gone on to become considerably bigger than us!

11 1990 leyland daf final at Wembley
We woz actually robbed lads and lasses
Tranmere would’ve been down to at least 10 these days in fact I have a memory to this day of Carl Saunders been wiped right out when clean through
Ah we’ll just had to make do with winning the league 😎😎
First away game was Brighton the season after on Boxing Day we won 1-0 with a goal in the first minute
Labour of love ever since been to 63 different grounds including 3 of our ‘home’ ones and still love it to this day.

Stoke i think, well remember those English schools trophy games, used to get big crowds for them, think we lost v Stoke but have a feeling Bristol won the trophy in the 50's?

I can’t remember the precise year but it was mid to late 60’s at Eastville with Biggs, Mabbutt, Jarman etc. I can remember playing the Arsenal in the 3rd round of the FA Cup when we lost 3 0 with Ian Ure scoring in front of 35,000 supporters.

Remember being transfixed by the floodlights lighting up the bright green pitch having only previously seen a very few games on TV which were obviously then only in black and white. Think only the FA Cup Final was shown then and maybe the occasional home international? Seemed magical at the time!

Mine was a friendly v Tottenham at Eastville around 1981/1982? I would have been about 7 and think it must have been arranged as part of Gary Mabbutt’s transfer. Played at Eastville not long after in a schools six a side competition that took place immediately before a game versus Wigan. It was organised by Canon who were the leagues sponsors at the time. Even though it wasn’t a huge crowd it was a nice insight and started my dreams of being a footballer (never made it like most schoolboy dreamers!). I was lucky to be a mascot versus Darlington in the first season at Twerton. In those days you were in the changing room listening to team talks etc, took part in the warm up (knocked a ball about with Penrice and Tanner and took a penalty v Timmy Carter I think it was), sat on the bench with Bobby Gould, Roy Dolling and the two subs. School mates were well jealous!! Wasn't that match played for the centenary celebrations so possibly 1983?
