Barnsley also had a female physio and when she came on to treat Luke Thomas there was nothing chanted. The chanting against JB was vile again and he has encountered it everywhere we have been and even from away fans at the Mem... I dont condone any of it ... I truly dont know what the answer is - Society before Covid was rotten and now post Covid its sunk even lower. Wareham - You mention a fine but the perpetrators wont pay it ( similar to the pitch invaders at the Mem) and they will keep doing it. You mention a points deduction, the EFL are so gutless they dont even deal properly or consistently with the constant financial cheating that goes on at Clubs let alone chanting. Sad times - and I really have no answers. I find myself not wanting to go to Games because of potentially what I will hear or behaviour i will be forced to see from people around me - easier to watch on IFollow. I’m sure you can ask the NHS for some therapy if things like this trouble you so much.

Can't say that I'm keen on men being physically or verbally abused either. I agree but the subject is of a BRFC Female employee being abused. My wrists have been duly slapped.

Yes I heard it ... When our Physio went on to treat Harry Anderson.... "The Hovis Eating, Flat Cap Wearing, Pigeon Fancying , Benefit Claiming Northern Monkeys" chanted " Get your #### out for the Lads" - Pathetic. Nothing you can do about it and let's be fair when we have tossers chanting they hope an opposition player dies no matter who he is or what he has done, we are hypocrites for demanding action be taken. We really need to get our own house in order before condemning other sets of fans. Not allowed to mention abuse of men on this thread *Holmes Law*

My earlier response wasn’t a criticism but it’s the lack of a will to overcome these problems. In today’s age of CCTV identifying individuals who misbehave or chant or whatever has never been easier. They could easily identify the culprits. If the clubs really had fines or closed stands or lose points it would concentrate the mind completely and it would be eradicated. Of course the first club to fall foul of some stringent penalties would make a fuss but it would settle down and become mainstream after time. But as you say the EFL are gutless and the FA seem similar. My argument has always been you can deal with it but it would be a difficult and awkward time whilst it was being done and clubs wouldn’t like it so nobody would choose that as an answer. UTG! ps. Not related but yesterday that awful case of the murdered pensioner and a man identified by CCTV. Today the man has been caught and will face the consequences of his appalling action. 24 hours max. Before anyone says it’s different I’m not suggesting they are anywhere near comparable. But just pointing out where there’s a will.... Did I read that right? You want people who sing “get your t*** out for the lads” at a football match to be identified by a stringent CCTV operation? Penalties to be clubs docked points and stands closed? You haven’t mentioned the individual punishments. Legal action? Or simply banning and publicly identified?

Totally sickening- how could anyone do such an appalling thing to a disabled elderly man ! Also the death of a 93 yr old one legged man in a wheelchair, tasered by the police in a care home, it beggars belief 😩

Thank you for highlighting the fact there is still so much work to do. Sadly - We still have sexists and racists at our club.

Abuse towards women will never be tolerated at Bristol Rovers whether it's verbal or physical. Can't say that I'm keen on men being physically or verbally abused either. Absolutely right. I am not a fan of any abuse of anyone. But this seems a bit of 'whataboutism' (and I am aware you are a female). When was the last time a male footballer was abused pure and simply for being a man? That is what has happened here. Our physio, whilst going about her job (for which she is highly trained), was sexualised and treated with disrespect. As far as I can tell, purely for being born a woman. This is on the similar to a male footballer being racially abused. It isn't the same as some random abuse of Taylor for going to City. That abuse is indeed distasteful and the extreme elements of it I do not support. But he made decisions and conducted himself in a way that was likely to incite reaction. No disrespect meant to you Tilly - i just felt like your comment somehow downplayed the situation... As I said, this isn't the same as some random abuse of a male. It is victimisation on the base of something entirely beyond her control. There is no place for it.

Let the song about celebrating his death carry on without the club looking to take action.

Let the song about celebrating his death carry on without the club looking to take action. You've knowingly chosen to ignore the fact I said it was not okay. I am saying it is different to abuse someone for the specifics of their very existence than it is to abuse someone for their actions. Both are highly distasteful and I have said I disagree with. However, all our physio did was happen to be born female. You can choose to ignore the difference if you like and I respect your decision to do so.

The Evil Post made out as though it was Rovers fans? I wasn't there, so know nothing about this, was watching on iFollow, but guess I must be a bit deaf, as I didn't hear it (unless I was making a cup of cocoa). I read the article and thought the same. Pretty appalling journalism No surprise there then.

As this thread shows. As a free speech absolutist, I find a lot of the above offensive. I don’t, however, want revenge on them for this. I don’t want any action taken.
